I love when SNL makes fun of anything related to theater because it's so accurate
It also gives theatre kids something to do during tech when their not at rehearsal because we can only think about theatre
Mostly because a lot of cast members got their start there, where it's improv or stand-up comedy (though they've also added people who do online videos, since Andy Samberg and his friends at Lonely Island became the first and most successful).

A lot of people are saying this sketch isn't funny so I feel like very few people here have actually watched live improv shows. The good ones are great and the bad ones are exactly like this sketch right down to the creepy audience volunteer who makes everyone more uncomfortable and the plastered on smiles from the improvisers as they try and work around it. Good sketch imo.
You don't have to think about it.... sometimes things are funny to some and not to others, chill

She's never even played a lead role in a feature length film. And keep in mind that there have been so many talented SNL sketch artists that failed to make a career of film. Everyone assumed Dana Carvey would be a HUGE film star, didn't quite pan out.

Yea I almost couldn't get into this because her acting for a serial killer was so en pointe.
McKinnon is always great, but I don’t think Aidy gets enough credit for how good she is on the show.

Kate is amazing! I was part of an improv group (we mostly did Ren faires). But we did not do skits based on audience members lives, though they could give us suggestions. I kinda miss it, honestly. It was fun.

Sasheer is a decent actress and not at all unlikeable, but I can't think of a single time she's done anything funny or been allowed to play anyone funny. Is she a secondary part of the cast or something? I don't understand it...
I've seen her perform live improv and she was very funny and quick with the jokes, I do think she must be a sort of 'back-up' cast member or something.
