For all of it's issues GHLive's control scheme is a really dope and novel idea that was executed pretty well, and it's a shame that it didn't get the love it probably needed.
I think what drove a lot of players away was the GHTV aspect. Rather than just keep a healthy supply of DLC like Rock Band did, they put it all on a service that you needed internet to play.
As a guitar hero player turned guitarist, when I picked GHLive game up and played this track, I was thinking, “Dang. I might as well actually learn the actual song!” Awesome FC!
I used to love playing this track, this is one of the first guitar hero games where I was actually able to play something harder than medium, and I remember there being just so many easy parts to mess up. Really great FC, I can't wait to give this game a try!

Oh shi this is that wierd as gh game with the 3 up 3 down buttons. I played this for like 20 minutes at a friends house when it came out then completely forgot it existed
Great song. I think the new control scheme of having the upper/lower split note buttons was a really cool idea to evolve from the original 5 in a row. Unfortunately I don't think the hardware was designed right to make it comfortable to play and the game built around it was meh.
The 3 top/3 bottom was a design philosophy by the developers themselves as they did that with DJ Hero. I do think they should have allowed 5 button guitars to be used as a secondary play option
Black notes are top row, white notes are bottom, the picks also point in the direction as an extra visual aid. The black and white square notes are bar chords, meaning you have to hit that fret in both the top and bottom row at the same time
@@SuperJxl it's hard to pick up if you're used to 5-fret but it's really rewarding to master, I almost didn't want to go back to 5 fret once I learned it
reading the fret it's on is quite easy, but the note type ( if there even is any ) is hard for being a person who has never played this type of guitar hero how's playing on this version of guitar hero ( in terms of hitting/reading notes ), is it uncomfortable compared to the 5 frets or is it just an alternative way of playing? is the controller itself good in quality?
it's pretty fun if you're already used to 5 fret. i like the challenge because it feels like the learning curve slowly straightens out after a while but then you're welcomed with something insane

Gh:live came out when I was in 8th grade, I am now in my second year of college. The nostalgia is palpable.

yeah it's hard after years of doing 5 frets, there's a reason this was the only and last game with this type.
