The Undefeated fort of India

- Many kings ruled this fort after Yadavas including Alaudin khilji , Muhammad bin-tugluq, Aurangzeb, but the fort was never defeated against its full potential in an attack.
In 1296 Alauddin khilji raided devagiri , at that time the army of devagiri was away on an expedition under king's son, the king retreated to the top of the hill fort while khilji ransacked the lower city, Yadavas were not prepared for this attack and due to insufficient power the king signed a peace treaty with khilji, later khilji used the wealth looted from devagiri to kill and dethrone his uncle Jalaluddin khilji , in 1308 khilji sent another expedition to devagiri which forced Yadavas king to become his vassal and later in the history the fort was ruled by Tughluq who tried to shift the capital Delhi to devagiri but failed.
The Title of this video is made to define the incredible structure that is made so strategically it made this fort imparable to a direct attack.

This fort was built by the Yadava dynasty in 1187 and was known as Deogiri. When Muhammad Tughlak ascended the Delhi throne, he was so taken by the fortress that he decided to move his court and capital there, renaming it Daulatabad, "the City of Fortune".

I hav visited this place just a month ago and was really glorified and amazed with the beauty of the structures....the architecture to all the construction is sooooo amazing and yeah the maze may be small but is scary and really don't have any sort of light sources.....there was this one guide there who told us about all the traps and tactic the guards used at that time its truly amazing...... Really a great place to visit... Just should have a great stemina to reach up to the top coz i lost my whole strength to the half way lol but made it to the top.......❤️❤️✨ Will visit it some other day.....

@@aadigaming7502 some forts were designed to be Cannon proof and some even had multiple layers of reinforced walls so camping outside the forts was more cost effective.

Fort of Deogiri was ruled by Nizamshah where Maharaj Shahaji was positioned as the one of the most important and powerful leader. When his son Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj established Maratha Swarajya, Nizamshah signed a treaty with him to stay unharmed and in return, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj allowed them to keep this fort. Later Nizams moved to south to operate without fear Maratha Swarajya was even more powerful. This fort was finally out of Nizam's clutches after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel dissolved Nizam's and added them in Republic of India.

True. But it’s expected that the main army will come in that time from any side and battle will happen on the ground.
Though many of the battles with depleted armies have got cornered to one fort and defeated, but that was not the avg usecase for forts.
They were a unreachable safe house of ammunition and food and supplies for army. While also having defensive measures. It was not a attacking front.

I am from Sambhaji Nagar. Fort is just 15 -20 km from city and this fort is huge, amazing and really complicated when you want to attack and capture. One of the toughest fort to capture. Also, it has famous "Mendha Top", or Sheep faced Canon. Canon, whose one end is designed in such a way that it resembles the face of the animal sheep. It is known to be one of the biggest canons in India, after canon of Bijapur and canon present on Janjira fort. Yet, I do not have official data, but that what I've heard. But, I am sure, that sheep faced canon on Devgiri, is large enough to destroy enemies.
