You should make it law for certain offences that suspects have HAVEA to be at court for sentencing. Less words and more action Sunak!
Here's an idea, put checks in place so this cannot happen again because arguing if someone should appear for sentencing is not helping anyone.
What about hospital admin and the absolutely clear fact that this could have been dealt with sooner?

Prisoners should not get the option not to face the families and hear the victim impact statements they should be forced to stand in court and listen! It should not be an option to say no I don't want to hear from the people whose children are killed! Now let's look into the NHS management because of we've all seen the emails they knew and had suspicions about Lucy for a long time and management didn't do anything about it! Baby's lives could have been saved.
A recording of the victims impact statements and the summing up of the judge with his recommendations should be played in her cell non stop on a loop on her tv on her radio and if need be on a speaker in her cell ceiling she should get no respite from this
