Visions Of Atlantis set sails for uncharted waters in 2013: Thomas Caser - the only remaining founding member - completely overhauled the line-up with vocal duo Siegfried Samer and Clémentine Delauney plus returning veterans Chris Kamper, Werner Fiedler and Mike Koren. I was waiting for more and was totally devastated to find out you and Serenity had parted your ways... As a musician myself I give this awesome high praise. I love this and that's saying a lot as I'm hard to please. I play a double bass metal drum kit at 57 with only 7 fingers and a few other insruments and the two fingers I lost were from crash landing an F111A during the 90/91 Gulf war on my dominant left arm, I'm a girl, and I also sing so my praise holds weight so those 236 down votes are either hard of hearring worse than I am (I'm deaf in my rrght ear from accident) or they don't appreciate good music. These guys are awesome!! Enough said.
6 years and it still good . I don't know why I cry a bit with this new version 😁, Most likely because I took this as cover-tribute to the previous singer that passed away, I grew listening to Vision of atlantis so when I hear this came out I could not stop the tears 😭

Just read about Nicole Bogner and she died way too young. 27 is so so young and she was so so talented.
Im a big fan of their first albums and I believe Clementine will fit that style very well.

Gotta admit, I didn't expect this new version to be so good!! After all, the song was originally written for a voice entirely different from Clémentine's. Winternight is my favorite VoA song, also being the song to introduce me to the band and I am very satisfied with this revamp, despite some minor issues! Hopefully the band is gonna give us more like this.

Amazing vocals. Very intimate and fragile. Fits perfect to the song. I found the original version already perfect for its time and am not sure if it really needed a remake, but I'm really excited for everything else to come up :)
This is something nice with symphonic metal bands, every now and then there's a song of different genre, no electric guitars at all, a beautiful ballad, a pop song or even jazz. A change is beautiful in an album, as it is in a song.

And here we are 6 years later and VoA has the European Album of the Year award with "Pirates". Clementine captured the female vocalist of the year as well. Exciting...yes!
I first heard this on the Cast Away album in about 2007. I bought it randomly in a CD store after going in to buy a Lacuna Coil album and I saw it in the same section and liked the artwork. I loved the original version with Nicole, so powerful. However this version blows me away and I think Visions of Atlantis have a great line up now.

What makes a symphonic metal band great, is an understanding of lyric writing for the complex compositions and different instruments that are used. I'd like to see this band succeed. This was a most wonderful ballad for the collection. Thank you.

The song hits my current despondency. R.i.P. But dark cloud also see over my life, which makes me sad. When you love and are allowed to love someone. When I see her, I want to take her in my arms and it doesn't work. Great voice, great song, recently rediscovered the band and seen them live.

@@novustalks7525 Also the new album is classic Visions of Atlantis but slightly modernized. Some songs are reminiscent of the powerful rhythm of Eternal Endless Infinity. Some are reminiscent of the melancholy of Cast Away. Others like the single Legion of The Seas returns to the catchy sound of Trinity. All of this combined with the fresh sound since the inclusion of Clementine as vocalist.
What a heartfelt and tourhing song, in etom is whole group.

The only problem with bands like this is you can never tell which is the band name and which is the track title, "Visions of Atlantis" by Winternight is just as plausible as "Winternight" by Visions of Atlantis lol

idk what people are complaining about, this is just EPIC the way it is. No ,it's not some heavy metal headbanger but it's a real good ballad, the best thing I've heard from this band. Really great job, the reply button better go to the police for a rape kit
+blazejecar You're right, it's not a bad ballad whatsoever. To play the devil's advocate though, I'll tell you why I won't return to this video and won't buy the album. The thing is that despite being not terrible, what it was was bland. There's a fucking million bands that already sound like this, and it wasn't unique enough for me to want more of it. That's at least my take on it, but don't let that spoil it for you if you like it.
***** Nightwish, Edenbridge, Within Temptation, Magica, Xandria, Delain, etc. The whole sub-genre of symphonic/power metal bands with female vocalists that don't sing in power metal vocals all sound far too similar to each other to offer anything new to me. I'm sure there's an exception, but I've yet to hear one.

+Isaiah Perry Have you listened to Edenbridge's earlier stuff (especially the first two albums)? I actually do consider their older style to be quite distinct - I haven't really heard anyone else who sounds much like they did back then. For some reason they started becoming a lot more generic on "My Earth Dream" and everything after it though.
