You said Klipsch engineers when talking about the cross overs...😳
That's why we take digital photos to record wiring.
Please let us know what is that clear glue in a clear bottle you are using. Your comment on strengthening the cones' spider and former is spot on. I am currently changing the dustcaps on four B200. It takes patience to do right.
How often with heavy use do you rebuild the crossovers? I’ve got some B&O S75’s from 70’s that sound like 2 blankets wrapped over the cabs. I know they need rebuilt but I have a pair of LSA2’s that could improve frequency separation. Cheers-thanks for the info!
How did the existing caps measure in terms of value and leakage?
My 2yr old step on the banana terminal in the back and snapped the top one. Sent an email to KED and waiting. Anywhere else I can order one from?
Thank you for the video!
What happened to your kef 107 video?
I just bought a pair of KEF 105/3's. Cabinets and Grills are mint. The seller said they are perfect so I shelled out $400 for the pair. Found out the Woofers have rotted surrounds. Not sure if they are even worth fixing. Seller said "Tough".
Sell is a dick, but at least you have yourself a cool project and will end up with one of the top 100 loudspeakers ever produced when you are all said an done! I have 104.2 and had to go through the same thing: foam / donuts / crossovers and ferrofluid. Hit me up if you need leads on where to get what, as your speakers and mine share many components.
Mine bad luck. They are cosmetically quite nice. There is a local fine antique audio store here and they had no interest in the KEF's yet they sell lots of older equipment. Told them I also have some Blonde Maple B & W Speakers and those they wanted.
Hey! I enjoy your videos. Currently I'm struggling to find a crossover schematic for this KEF model. Can you help ID what C33's value is? Many thanks in advance.
@chip chance C33 should be 16uF +/-10% depending on the inductor L33
I need a single rod for a 105/3...can anyone help?
