    Of all the installation videos for the JL gas cap, this one is the best. You can actually see the clips behind the cap! I was getting so frustrated blindly trying to remove it until I saw this video. Thanks!!! 😊

    Looks like a simple install. The stock filler is one of the things I hate about most about my jeep other than the whip antenna. The antenna was the first thing I took care of.

    thank you VERY much for this video. It was very very helpful. I have a 2021 Jlu sport and hated the naked fuel cap. I found it very hard to take off the factory fuel filler assembly. I don't have as much strength in my hands as a guy. But after several tries I did get it off and the new one (I got the mopar jeep logo one) went on super easy even as I was just positioning it, it snapped in. I don't know if I could have done it without your video where you show the clips so clearly. And you show taking off the trim piece and the light bolt. I didn't take off the light, BTW, I just set it in the cargo area. Everything seems to be working, light works, door opens and closes, fuel cap seems secure. My fingers are VERY sore but I'm very happy! The only scratches (and blood) are on me!

      @@KramerJunction I want to put a trailer hitch on my JLU and roof rack rails. Also, someday a roof top light bar. If you can do any of these I'd certainly find them helpful. What I most found useful about your video is that you started at the beginning for a beginner. I was worried I would have to buy a socket wrench and you showed me that I had one for the light bolt. Stupid of me, because I had used it to put a tire cover on the jeep, and used it to get off the camera vanity cover, but again, this kind of detail is what beginners need. Thanks again

    Great video. Love the moments of triumph. Just installed mine. I was able to just leave the wire harness attached for my 2021 JL and rest it in the cargo area out of the way. I did detach the Christmas tree though. I used some 303 cleaner on the rubber gasket, as it was a little "sticky" upon arrival, which made it easier to slide on. 10 min job for a nice upgrade.

    Great video - took 15 minutes max after watching you video - two things if you don’t have a torx a 10mm socket will remove the twilight bolt. Also I did not have to disconnect the taillight I juts let it hang while taking out the old fuel cap frame. Look so much better now - my door is the one with Jeep on it vs the flag, but otherwise identical

    • @KramerJunction
      @KramerJunction  Před 3 lety +2

      You absolutely could do it without removing the light. Removing the light to pop the clips on the factory fuel filler neck mount is just a little bit easier on the soft aluminum body panels over just pulling it out so I recommend the extra step. It’s a minute extra worth of work so I don’t mind 🤷‍♂️

    American flag, but made in China. Don’t want it. So far, had many like items installed but the quality is so bad, returned it. One locking door unit had pot metal key mech. That I didn’t like, but worst of all, the plastic locking tabs wouldn’t click to body. They were bad out of the box. No spring tension. I returned everything and bought a proper Mopar unit.
