Yes my horse does like to be ridden and it does depend on the horse and depends on the weight I used the lightest weight saddle and I'm only 105 pounds he probably doesn't feel me

I think if the rider is experienced they enjoy the time spent with you & the discipline you're in.
A unknowledgable rider does upset a horse. Tack has to fit. You must know now to be one with your horse. To use aids properly.
Their mouths, & back are sensitive. No jerking, & bunching around.
    Learn to read your horse.
AND ITS COMFORT COMES 1st. Always.

when a horse swishes it’s tail it’s not happy

Horses move and swish the it tails when something is bothering them, actually, swishing tails are the first sign of something being wrong (think of when they feel a fly, they swish their tails to remove the fly) . A relaxed non-moving tail is a sign that the horse is unbothered

Horses, though being so much bigger than humans, are many more times sensitive. They can feel a fly land on them through hair and a thick hide. Can YOU feel a fly land on your shirt? Strap a tight belt aroynd your chest and put a metal bar in your mouth attached to straps that can be tugged and pulled. Do YOU like it?

But they aren’t, a 2020 study found no significant difference in the epidermal nerve counts of horses and humans. Bits (metal bar in mouth) don’t hurt IF applied properly. Like all animals they should be treated with respect and love but saying there skin is many times more sensitive than ours is just plain wrong.

Swinging their tail rapidly is not a good sign .. It shows they are iriitaded

Of course they don't like it. They instinctually hate having something sitting on their back as that is how a predator would attack them. Not to mention all the equipment they are forced to wear/is used on them (tight straps, metal bits, spurs, whips etc.). They learn to tolerate it because they don't have a choice. That's all.

The bit, though. It seems like it would be awful.

Depends on the rider. There are a couple of riders on there who have awful hands, hauling on the horse's mouth, forcing its mouth open - those people need a lot of no-reins, no-stirrup longe lessons.

Not one singular horse in these videos are happy.. Also if a horse is swishing it's tail..... It's certainly not happy.... They're not dogs.
