I've trained in other martial arts and just started studying BJJ. That was a mastered layout on the art. I'm highly impressed❤
An absolutely beautiful display on the science of jiu jitsu.
🙏
Love the conceptual narration! I like that you show the "why" behind each movement and what its purpose is.
Thanks man! It's what BJJ is all about 🙌
This reminds me of one of my training partners, he was an amazing goalie in the NHL named Tomas Vokoun. He’s now retired but is quite literally the strongest human being I’ve ever felt man handle me on the mats.
Incredible athletes. I love when beasts like that start training. I'm going to turn Richard into a monster 🙌
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsuhe’s a purple belt and he throws my 220lb/100kg self around like I’m his kid lol
Your videos keep getting better and better. Really appreciate the work you put into making these for us. Thank you Jordan!
Thanks man! They take more and more time to make haha but it's worth it!
Jordan, love your videos, even thought I do not comment every time, I'm watching them all. Ordered that LMNT as well, and you are right, very helpful for cramps and overall recovery. Thanks for the tip!!
I made each and every one of richards mistakes today and paid for each one in full! Thanks for the video, very enlightening.
These videos are really great. Thanks!
Will be great to see you continue to record his progress.
Love the kimura switch! Cheers man!
Attacking the Americana with the wrist has been game changing. Thank you for that small detail!!!
Love you videos, your analysis and teaching approach! Thank you so much for that! Do you know will there be a discount in the near futur for your "Jiu-Jitsu Theory Course". I would love to attend it. Many thanks, OSSS
this is so helpful thankyou !
This would make an amazing series. He has the physical attributes to be an absolute monster.
Considering he's a very high level athlete, he will have no problem picking up on the sport.
I look forward to seeing the whole series with him.
👊Great roll commentary as always - Thank you!
Thanks man!
I really like your style the best of all bjj guys, you flow so smoothly.
As a big guy getting better at bjj. I come back to this video once a month
Ty!
Outstanding work good Sir 👍💯
Thanks Jordan. You’re a legend
Great video!!!
Thanks a lot for all your content. IMO it is the best BJJ content available. Video quality, editing quality, commentary and everything. It's all on point. I would like to thank the cameraman too
Thank you so much! I work hard to make my videos as perfect as I can. My camera lady is the best in the business. No background in filming but learned on the job filming for me and followed my direction of what I want from her. I've had actual videographers film some rolls but she does is way better 🙌
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu haaaa ! I wanted to write "or camerawoman" but I dont know if its a word in english haha. yea she knows what to show us and it add another layer of quality to this channel ! Many thanks to you, her and all your team !
Bro is going to be terrifying in like two years time. Please post more rolls with him down the line.
Super thanks!
You said part 2 was gonna be in his house right? Skates on, gloves off? 🤣
Great video man. Its like looking at you roll with a bear cub. 2 years of training or so hes going to be a PROBLEM.
Wassup Jordan, i was just listening to the latest podcast episode where you talked about mental health and you competing. I think you need to take your own advise of taking action regardless of how you feel, even when it comes to competition. I think you will realize that you can comepete and perform well even if you lack the motivation and feel bad. That is a way to take power back from the mental ups and downs. You might find confort in that challenge!
Much love ✌🏻
Thanks Jordan!
Like always very explanatory. 10/10
Thanks man 👊
Great video, Any videos explaining the upper body controls he needs to be thinking about when trying to pass. I get swept like that often by the upper belts from the same position 😂😂
this is like art
Great video, Jordan 👊🏻
Thanks Mellisa 🙂
I love the combo of muscular build with grappling skill. Just overall athletic strength is such a huge factor for learning, it can buy you enough time to figure out how to escape bad spots. More importantly it can be invaluable for injury prevention. Great vid Jordan.
Thanks man! You're 100% right. The best way to stay injury free besides training safe is to build muscle. Gotta build a durable body to be durable 💪
Yes, and I am slightly jealous 😀
Truly a LEGIT BJJ black belt ….. with a size and strength difference being that lopsided your technical skills have to be over the top … excellent demo….u da man !
Still the most helpful BJJ videos on the net
Great video Jordan!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great roll. Definitely like seeing the bigger guys rolling.
I love finding big guys to roll with!
Love your videos Jordan - how do I get some info about becoming a video sponsor?
Awesome content!!!
Thanks!
best channel fr
What a monster. Monsters*. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
LMNT is a game changer
Would definitely be cool to see him again after he's trained a bit more. Btw does LMNT ship internationally? 👊
I can't wait to see how deadly I can make him. When he's a blue belt the rolling commentary will look much different and I'm here for it 💪
I'm pretty sure lmnt does. It's really a great product. I drink one just about every day!
Worth asking after the elbow in the face...do you use or prefer a mouth guard?
7:18 I was in that exact same position today in mount :) , kept getting rolled off then got back into mount. Couldn't do arm triangle or kimura, luckily we was in the gi so I pulled off the ezekiel . Armbar a cool option too when pushed off, i'll try that next time. Definitely a common thing that happens to me
Big guys such an advantage being able to just throw us off of them haha
These videos are great
🙏
Get you a good custom mouthguard bro, they really make a difference and mine is comfortable enough to talk with and drink with it in. I forget im wearing it at times now. Sentinel mouthguards is the brand, 3 millimeter thickness i believe
I definitely gotta get one. My tongue takes such a beating and it makes it hard to eat 😩
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu they cost a lil over $100 usd but I feel like that's a cheap investment to protect your teeth and plus keeping yourself from biting you tongue and cheek
Hey @JordanTeachesJiujitsu Can you do a Gi vs No-Gi sparring ? 😅 I think this will be an interesting topic..maybe we get to learn some new things
Merci maître Jordan
Jordan, you're my best bjj youtuber. Can you please make a video about how to defend my back?
That dude's going to be a monster.
I naturally started doing the Americana that way. Never realized it was actually a thing! I just assumed it was because I have pretty bad loss of motion in one wrist due to breaking it as a child and for some reason it felt better holding it that way
Ya man it's way better! And a detail few know about.
Hes a monster! Maybe he doesnt grip fight because he doesnt have to in most his rolls 🤔 gona be killing the absolute divisons some day keep it up big lad!
Great video, my friend! I'm gonna think about that knee-on-belly transition. And I've also been trying that nogi Ezekiel recently. Feels a little dirty though, haha
6:29 - Y U NO MOUTHGUARD
Also, I'd love to hear your opinion on the "Pull and Peel" video we made.
Hitting an omoplata on a white belt. Cold-blooded, Jordan. 😆
I'll take a look! And definitely I need to start wearing a mouth guard 😩
When you were talking about biting your tongue.... do you not wear a mouth guard?
Only for mma but I probably should start for BJJ
Interesting views
nice, now i know not to stay on my knees before i get upper body control when im trying to pass.
I don't know if you have a sponsor for mouthguards, but my Impact mouthguard has saved my tongue and teeth from plenty of devastating injuries
This reminds me of the one time i watched Happy Gilmore
I think Jordan said on his podcast why he doesn’t wear a mouth guard when rolling… but why tho? It makes the accidental bites less painful
Once he gets to blue or GOD forbid purple he will be a MONSTER!
Can't wait to see his progress!
3:30 wow that was cool 😎
👊
MOUTHGUARD!!! :) 👊
How much does he weigh? 220?
💪🏼
👊
👊
I might share this with my father to show him what BJJ is, he loves the toronto maple leafs.
Definetly should! He didn't get an opportunity to play for them but played for the marlees. I wonder if your dad would remember him being signed.
mouthpiece bruh
Jorden sir one question (thats my confusion )
What category bjj's 50/50 guard?👉 option a. Close guard b. Open guard c. Half guard.
Half guard would be the closest but I view it more as a leg entanglement for leg locks than a guard. For example you wouldn't call the saddle a guard. But then there's single leg x which is a guard and also a leg entmenglmemt for leg locks. So it's kinda murkey.
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu oss🖤
There she is. El classico. The kimura sweep 🤙
One of my favorites 👌
I love the kimura trap back take I've been hitting it a lot. I'm going to be bummed out when everyone starts catching on in my gym and figures me out😂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu love it! Just need to start getting the arm bar from it more often.
finally, I was getting tired of those blue belts
I'll get some higher belts on the channel soon too 👊
it seems like butterfly sweep works against bigger opponent
Jordan vs gordon rayan 😅😊🎉
👊🏽
And 6:11 what did jordan do wrong and how did he know sliding into mount he was going to get reversed?
I positioned my weight too far to the side and off his body
👊🏽 🎉
Do you ever use a mouth guard?
Only for mma but I should for BJJ
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu yeah me neither. Some guys do religiously but I never could get comfortable with it. I guess once I lose a tooth or something, that’s when I’ll start wearing one.
Why does the end of every sentence end with inflection? Like every statement is a question?
Because I'm not good at reading out loud but I'm working on improving
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu fair enough
Big dudes with like 6mo-1 year training become really hard to deal with lol
100%
I am beginig to see that you always use, or most of the time, the underhook to escape from side control, so it is that effective for you to use it that often and against way stronger and bigger opponents. I need to check that instructional of yours about side control escapes now.
I think it's the easiest way to escape. Bumping and shrimping is much harder imo.
first omoplata on the channel, no? nicee
Second actually! I hit one on my friend kieren in the Gi a couple months ago. I'm trying to do more more variety on the channel 🙂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu oh nice! yeah hope we see some buggy chokes and boston crabs ;)
Would be dope to see you make a serious run at adcc. Or you vs musumeci. You murder everyone. Love the Channel!
One day I'll get back to competion. I want to prove to myself and everyone the level I'm at. Just gotta find the motivation to make it happen. Still lots of years left in my athletic prime 🙂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu but at the same time if you’re completely content with life there’s no need to do anything different especially to prove to anyone else. If you’re happy you’re happy sir. Cheers
I dont ever see you go for leg submissions. Could be wrong tho
I actually have a pretty good leg lock game but don't showcase it much on the channel. I just try to flow as much as possible and although I'm good at them, they're not my A game like the rest that I show 🙂
White belt things bro, but yeah this guy at Blue belt is going to be problematic for most belts
Dudes got wrists the size of soup cans. Never a good sign..
Jordan is the bjj Jake Paul. Rolling with guys that do other stuff with some bjj but never in his level. Kinda want to see you vs another competing black belt or just someone on par with you. Didn’t mean for that to sound shitty just like seeing elite level jits clash.
He had a great roll with Chewie which he uploaded, and Chewie has competed in pans and MMA. Also Tristar uploaded an old cage roll of Jordan from back when he was a brown belt against one of their guys.
He literally rolled with BERNARDO FARIA and you still thought it was okay to write this comment : D
I've got at least 8 rolls on the channel with blackbelts that I can think of. Plus a judo Olympian and sambo world silver medalist. I always get these comments, but I always seek out the best rolls for the channel. I live in a small town in Canada. There's not high level blackbelts flocking to my gym to film rolls with me for CZcams. I'll roll with anyone on camera but it can be tough to even ask anyone let alone blackbelts as many have said no. Takes an egoless blackbelt to say yes. Some have said yes, and then no after the roll was filmed 👎
As a student under Jordan, I can attest that he rolls elite level brown and black belts all the time and handles them with ease, his skill is at the most elite level, we are truly blessed to have him in such a small town. Anytime we have open mat with people that come from all over, he has never shied away from a roll and will ask anyone, regardless of skill level. These are meant to be instructional, broken down, so the viewers can be as blessed, as we are, to have such world class coaching.
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu ohh yea thats understandable man. Much respect Jordan, learned a lot from you, very digestible content
