I thought you did a great job. I need a little more clarity on where and how exactly I connect the winch wires for the switch under the steering console. Do they plug in or push together? Or do they bolt on somewhere?
Thanks! Two days ago I was 20 miles in the deep woods and got stuck in a bog on the side of the trail! I have a 2022 Canam Outlander 450 DPS Max. I just bought the exact winch and will install it tomorrow! In Canada with tax it's $495 and I was going to be charged $300 more to install it! Now I can save that money 👍
BRP,actually has two instruction sets the one you used for 2017 and up amd there is another one for outlander 2019 and up. Mine is a 2022 and although I also have DPS the bracket used for my atv is the triangle one confirmed in the 2019 and up, but the battery wiring corresponds to the instructions you followed in the 2017 and up. Bottom line I got it done and it’s working
Doing this right now. For anybody wondering the only difference between the Can-Am branded winch and an Amazon special is the connectors that tie to the factory harness - so you need to make one splice instead of a plug. Otherwise you save $250 or so.
Thanks for the video. When installing the power supply for the switch looking for direction on where to plug that in. I have no heated grips. For a moment in their instructions it looked like were supposed to go into that rectangular black junction box underneath the cluster…. But no. What do i unplug on plug into under there? Also so this is wired only to work when ignition is on? Thanks again Jan
I am getting ready to install this same winch on a 2020 Can Am Outlander. I was curious how you finished the circuit breaker box that appears to be sitting on the gas tank. Thanks. Well done.
Do you mean how I mounted it? Because in the video I show how I assembled the circuit breaker box in the video. When I mounted the box, I just used one zip tie to hold it in place. There wasn't a lot of room to work so I couldn't get a second zip tie around it. Hope this helps!
@@DIYDanCars I actually finished installing the winch right before your comment. I ran into the same problem with the space being really tight. I wasn't able to get a zip tie around the box. But I was able to manage getting a zip tie close to the box. I appreciate you responding.
I don't remember and sold this ATV a few years ago during COVID. I do know the wheel and tire package were taken from a Can-Am Maverick side by side. Hope this helps.
Thanks a bunch. Im doing my outlander xxc 1000r later and the instalation is slightly different. But this video helped me considerably. Thanks a bunch.

No problem! Happy to help! Nice user name! We have a Granturismo and love it! I even have some DIY videos on that car as well.
Yes My Dad has a 2014 White Granturismo as well! Beautiful car! I will check out your videos! Tomorrow I am installing the winch!

@@maseratination Yeah, there are some small difference between model years after MY16. Glad you got it figure out! Nice job!
It was exactly what I needed! Thank you!

I tried using an Amazon special winch originally with my 570 and I only got 2 weeks out of it. Just saying.
Nicely done Dan! That winch could come in handy.
Thanks Chris!
Love your helper!

Great vids Dan. May I suggest a stainless steel zip tie over the plastic, which deteriorates eventually. Might save you some effort over the long run.
If I had followed my own advice years ago, I'd still have a front license plate ;)
That's a very good suggestion, but I remove that panel every year to gain access to the oil filter.
Good video, thanks.
Great video!

I have the 2007 outlander ho would it be pretty much the same process.
Sorry not related to this video but for the Lexus differential fluid can I use 75W 90 for both front and rear differential of a 09 is250 AWD?
Hey Dan, was wondering what size bighorns those were?

@@DIYDanCars I’ll look into it, thanks!
Will these parts & winch work on a 2021 xmr outlander?
Yes.
Don't you also need the Can Am hardware kit (P/N 715003477) to install per their instructions?
My 2016 XmR didn't require that. It already had the mount.
are the push rivots re-usable? or should i replace them once i pull them out
Yes. I have reused mine a few times.

What size tires you got on there
These are standard 28" ITP Mudzilla tires that came with the machine.
