    Has anyone found earlier live footage of Snock than this? Such a treasure. Interesting to see how his body movements are different than the footage from recent years of him performing

      I have some earlier audio from shows but no footage. I would love to see him in mid-70s

    This footage was supplied (I'm guessing) from the archives of the infamous Boston luminary and Bon Vivant Billy Ruane. Local Madman, booking agent and lover of the arts who had a hand in everything musical in Boston and Cambridge, fostered many careers and was at every show from the late 70's through the 2000's. From large famous acts he knew personally to barely starting out musicians. From blistering punk to quiet folk. Sadly Billy passed away a few years back but touched many who knew him. There should be a documentary about his life.

      The documentary is actually in the final stages of being made. See Michael Gill's trailer: czcams.com/video/DK1nT7sovTo/video.html

      Correction: The song at 19:07 is called Milwaukee Blues. Originally by Charlie Poole. I think I can name the rest of the songs, and write them down later. By the way, if you´re interested in some guitar-tutorials for guitar, check out my channel! :-)

      I have several live shows from Laurelthirst in PDX from early/mid-2000s. Have got a show from NYC in 76 (which I think has been released as a record recently), as well as a few shows in Chicago and Germany from mid-to-late 80s. Would be happy to share and/or trade

      Since leaving Portland, I do miss seeing him play live. I always enjoyed his choice in venues: Laurelthirst, Common Grounds coffee shop, Papa G's, etc.
      Oh well, I've got memories and records to last into the future.

    What type of banjo is Snock playing at the beginning?

    • @fieldengrey1
      @fieldengrey1 Před 3 lety

      looks (and sounds) like an old 5-string fretless banjo. hard to tell how old it was at the time this was taking cause the light is so low.
