If you were wondering - the "getting my life back on track" title in the beginning was not supposed to be there lol! Oh well 🤷♀ Which cafe was your favourite? And please share your favourite cafes 🙏
Wow, so happy to have come across this video! I born in the US, but grew up in Shoto and later lived in Tomigaya for work. Such a unique calm in these areas of Tokyo. Definitely want to try nadoya, paddlers, and no. during my next visit. Still miss those pedestrian walkways ~ I've had lots of delicious drinks and meals along that route into Shibuya✌🏼
Some nice recommendations! I’ve done a few of them but always fun to be inspired to explore new ones. I think that when you’re walking around in Tokyo you’ll always find some amazing (sometimes weird as well) cafe. Especially in the somewhat off-neighborhoods.
I would make the last one my "go to" . I did spend the next 45 minutes dinking coffee and looking for your Kotatsu/coffee table on-line. Is that a solid piece if wood? so cool
Yeah it has a very personal feel to it! The coffee table is one solid piece of wood. I bought it from a Japanese site called Creema, kind of like Japanese etsy, but it's one of a kind so you can't buy it unfortunately!
@@oliviaimamura Thanks! I thought is was probably an artisan table. I did find similar ones, but they had logs for legs (literally). As for Japanese cafe culture, they are so diverse. If I was with friends I would go here, if I wanted to get some work done I would go to this one, and if it was raining I'd go over there. I did like the cafe you got scolded for having a tri-pod lol!!
@@ratzo77 Yeah it took me some time to find a table that I liked! Best of luck with your hunt 🤞 Totally agree - the cafe definitely depends on what you want to do/who you're with! Love paddlers :)
if you like paddlers i think u should try their other cafe in nakano called LOU! dont think they have a time limit…they serve some tapas at night too! I have yet to visit paddlers!! i think a cool study cafe would be common in roppongi! but the menu is a liftle more expensive than usual i would say lol
Amazing tips! Checked Lou on Google and it seems amazing! I’ve actually never been to Nakano but I really need to go lol. And literally a week ago visited common for the first time so will be in a vlog shortly! Thanks :)
I'm sorry to bother you with this, but would you mind telling me what the delivery guy said to you before he left, around 4:52? He spoke so quickly that I couldn't make out anything! 😢 I would love to check out nadoya no katte or no., but unfortunately this July I'll be in Kyoto instead of Tokyo. Fun vid!
Hahah I didn't realise that people would want to know what's being said! He's just saying "Thank you. So this purchase was made through Mercari, was it not?" Me: "Yes that's correct". I have a Kansai solo trip vid where I go to many cafes and restaurants in Kyoto if you're interested :) czcams.com/video/eNHeM_RZGnU/video.htmlsi=8tdCGcFmiEJaWnFq
@@oliviaimamura ah, okay thank you! I listened to it again but still couldn't pick out the Japanese. However, this time I think I did barely hear メルカリ, lol
Great vidoe. How are people about your tattoo? I am visiting this summer and have a tattoo on my leg, and plan on wearing shorts. Will that be frowned upon?
Especially if you look like a foreigner/tourist people won’t mind at all. When I have my tats out people just assume I’m a foreigner but people don’t really mind. Of course access to onsens and bath houses is limited but other than that I never think about my tattoos being frowned upon. Maybe outside of Tokyo you might get some looks from some older people but as a tourist I don’t think you need to really think about it at all tbh, be yourself:)
Fair enough, not expecting everyone to like the way I sound :) fun fact - I’m not even British though, half Japanese and Finnish and grew up in Finland!

For numerous Japanese individuals, living in Tokyo is considered the ultimate aspiration.
I guess! But life outside of Tokyo seems lovely as well, for different reasons than Tokyo :)

amazing vlog! but why would that someone tell you off for using a tripod? geez :/
Thank you! It’s Japan - people are just a lot more private and protective of their environment. So it’s very normal here!

Very nice apartment. Do you mind telling how much you’re paying?
