Pineapple on pizza kinda varies imo: fresh pineapple tastes pretty good and contrasts with other salty toppings nicely, whereas canned pineapple tends to ruin otherwise great pizzas with too much sweetness and acidity.
Btw, it's been the most controversial pizza topping ever since the concept was popularized back in the 1960's. The internet didn't create the hate, it just diluted it lol
