This is one of my best capture in 2019 which I did filmed at Manchester Airport. The A380 has only thrust reversers on the inner engines as can be clearly observed in the video. She's landing on wet runway after heavy rain. The Airbus A380 is the largest passenger and most expensive airliner in the world always produce spectacular water sprays with two powerful Rolls-Royce engines

Why are the reverse thrusters applied only on the two inner engines?
Because it doesn't have (or need) any. The A380 has reverse thrust on the inboard engines only. ... The decision not to install reversers on the A380's two outboard engines saved weight and lowered the chances that those engines, which sometimes hang over runway edges, would be damaged by ingesting foreign objects.

1:20 That's the first time I figured out how a thrust reverser works. How come the outboard engine doesn't have one?
Because of debris ! Outboard engines hanging up above the grass. They could create more debris

It depends on the landing weight of the aircraft. The pilot can select "all back full" or "in-board back full". They are always much lighter than their takeoff weight on landing, but if he has a full payload of people and luggage. He might select all.
@@tomyfamily1 makes sense sir. Also would the width of the runway have a deciding factor? mind a jet if it's gonna take some fod into the intake it's gonna take it in.
@@karljames1694 truthfully I'm not sure on that. I'm sure the width does factor in. After all, those engine blow alot of debris all over. So Engines #1 & #4 are not used to prevent fod. Unless needed.

Wet runway and he only used 2 reversers. Do 1 and 4 not have them, or did the pilot just know they weren't needed? Serious question.

Почему у него реверс только на двух двигателях?
Главная причина в том что у него наружные два двигателя обычно всегда находятся над грунтом ( так как размах крыльев превышает ширину полосы ) Если бы реверсы работали на всех двигателях то был бы огромный риск попадания инородных обьектов в соседний двигатель. Другая причина это вес двигателя. А380 достаточно и 2 движков для замедления

It 's a standard landing, one of 300 for every day, I don 't understand the delight in the comentaries... It is a real, standard landing, as well as much in this real world))) people, look around more often and around you the world and you will not react with such wild delight to such elementary situations.... It 's not even funny anymore... standard boarding... as 4K... and all... And the co-mentaries, how the bud pilot did the wrong thing and planted this iron, non-controlled plane... about a miracle.
For some people an *aviation* is like a porn.
