- Chhatu’r porota: This quick and easy porota (paratha) stuffed with chhatu (sattu) is something we always take with us on train/flight journeys. The stuffing is dry, so it keeps well even in the hot and humid weather. It can be had on its own with a little bit of achaar (pickle) if you like. Since the stuffing of chhatu needs no cooking, it is very easy to make.
This porota is most common in Bihar and was likely popularised in Bengal by Bihari migrants or picked up by the large population of Bengalis who lived in Bihar or bordering districts.

Aah...this is very nostalgic, when I was in school..My mom used to pack this in my tiffin,along with aloo chokha (mashed potatoes) cause I am from bihar ,it's dearly accepted as a variation of litti chokha. But there is one secret and weird combination that I love with sattu paratha,which is eat it with honey.💛 It's magical😎
Chatu r porota or sattu ka paratha brings back school memories when my Bihari friends used to bring them in tiffin needless to stay I finished them all 😂😂 nostalgic about those tiffin box memories

While making sattu filling in the place of water.. add little lime juice..🍋 Amra Jharkhand e tai kori . Gives lovely tangy flavour..n lots of garlic 😊

Yes absolutely, & we also use raw Mustard oil and Nigella seeds (Kalongi or Kalo Jeera) at home...tastes heaven 😋

What are the ingredients of sattu?
Instead of adding water add mustard oil in sattu in plenty also chopped garlic with ginger. And we don't add sugar in sattu, instead you should squeeze some lime into it. It tastes delectable. Try it. You can eat the mixture with plain rice adding some ghee. You'll love it.

Ise makuni kahte hain!! Sattu paratha shahari log kahte hain.Saatu ke Makuni aur litti nahi ..futehari naam hai . original naam hi achcha lagta hai.

Ur recipes are good but in this receipe if u add lemon juice and dash of mustard oil in sattu , it gives a very nice flavour and u need not add water then !!
Yes I too add mustard oil when there's not enough oil from the pickle! Gives a very earthy flavour to the filling as well as helps bind it!🙂
Some finely chopped garlic and green chillies can be fried slightly in warm mustard oil and then added to the sattu. The taste gets enhanced.

Being from Anga part of Bihar, I have very nostalgic memories attached to it, we eat it with Sarso chutney, lasun(garlic) or Lemon achar or Baigan bharta. ❤️ One more thing, we don't use Maida in the preparation 😁

While in Patna, during my school days,our landlady used to make amazing Sattu ka parantha,however she used to add "lahsun (garlic) and "golki " i,e (black pepper) to the filling.Loved the video!👍🏻👍🏻

I grew up in a Bihari surrouned neighbourhood in my childhood...so in our area and home "chhatur paratha" is very popular...my mom takes grated or paste onion...green chilly paste..lemon juice little in sattu or chhatu..your video reminds me childhood days.

Amar mama Jharkhand e thaken.. okhan kar khub famous ei recipe.. àmar mamima Amay banie khaiye Chilen. Tarpor theke amio banai.. but Amra Chatur filling Tay ektu besi Kore finely chopped garlic..r lebur ros use Kori.. garlic er smell ta Chatur Sathe bes Lage.. you should try it once

We follow similar recipie but never heard of sugar .we also add mustard oil and lemon .it enhances the taste
