The editing and presentation for this character showcase feels a lot more well paced and straight-to-the-point compared to past ones! Also really love how expressive and authentic the character animations look!

I will miss how overly detailed the old ones were, but I probably agree this is better.
It was made by beta testers - this one in particular plays at a high competitive level

Well the first game didnt have back air or side specials so they were gonna have to rework the movesets quite a bit. Plus spongebobs original down b was bad

This biggest thing is the change from forced Digital Inputs to natural Analogue Inputs.
Literally everything the Developers were not able to simply Copy/Paste from what they Developed in Project M was because of this
Ludosity has been developing successful spiritual successors to SSBM for YEARS before GameMill/Nickelodeon hired them to make one.
ProjectM/SlapCity Dev team (Ludosity) had the WORST stipulation to work with for NASB1
In order to make the game playable on Keyboard and Arcade Sticks they had to rebuild smash with Digital 8-way directional .... that was a stupid idea from Nickelodeon/GameMill
Now we can port our engine directly from SSBM/PM/SlapCity into the next biggest platform fighter
FFFF Multiversus, NetherRealm needs to stick to Moron Kombat games Batman/Lebron can't carry them

I've been wanting Jimmy to appear in the first game, but they had to ruin it by having Hugh instead. I mean, c'mon, we get it, he's a meme, but shoehorning him in is a stupid idea. Just like how they did it with Shaggy. 🤦♂️
This definitely is a move set I can get behind like the last game. Of course SpongeBob is still the Mario of the game, but his variability still makes him a viable contender.
And The First Starter Fighter
I'd say he is better than Mario. Mario doesn't have a burst speed option.

I just love the stretchy cartoonism of this game animations.
Specially with SpongeBob, who's basically made of rubber and can stretch in absurd ways.

I kinda like this new presentation style unlike the other comments because it still leaves some of the moves to be explored on our own.

I really like the changes they made to Spongebob's moveset, gives him a lot more tools to work with. Interesting concept for his down special, but I do think it is more fitting than the bite he had in the first game. This spotlight also gives us a better look at some of the stages, and they all look fantastic. Though, I have noticed that their layout and hazards change a few times throughout the video, maybe that means each stage will have one or two variants we can choose. Also, R.I.P. Mr. Krabs 0:53 :(.
Edit: Something else I just noticed is that it looks like the devs heard the complaints about Spongebob's down strong in the first game looked more like an up strong, so they made the move an up strong in this game.

This looks much better than the 1st game! I also like the higher level of professionalism with this video as it gets straight to the point of the character's tool set. I'm definitely glad that Nickelodeon decided to give you a decent budget this time!

Holy crap! This game is actually going to be so good! SpongeBob’s new move set looks great, and the gameplay looks very smooth. Really excited to see everyone else, and I cannot wait to get my hands on this game.

Hey There
1st. RIP Mr. Krabs, we’ll have to see if being a background character excludes him from being a future character. It can be worked around with him (Dedede is in the background of Kirby’s Dream Land in Smash 64/Ultimate and he’s playable in Smash)
2nd. Some changes I’ve noticed about SpongeBob that we didn’t know already:
-His Imagination attack has been redirected to his up strong, replacing the karate move, and now the down strong is bring it around town
-They got rid of the chomp down special and replaced it with a fry cook move that better fits his character
-His down strong in the air is now the reef blower 😂
-He has a Mermaid Man outfit
-He has a really great t bag animation
and they replaced his floor sweep down tilt with anchor arms
I was not a fan of NASB1 in the slightest, but looking at what you're doing with NASB2, I'm starting to get my hopes up. Keep this up and you might join Aether Studios in reforming the platform fighter genre into more than just melee piggybacks. I'll be keeping a close eye on NASB2.
I regretted buying the first game but this one seems like it'll actually be worth it. Looks like they fixed literally everything wrong with the first and improved upon it.

I don't know if many people care but I love the fact, that the moves have weight. It doesn't have moves that just appear and go they actually look punishable.

This game I guess was a wake up call to nick execs. Give developers money and time so they can do a good job. This game looks 100 times better than the first one. I supported that one to, even if it did have its fair share of issues.
The game looks WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than the first one.
The animations, the mechanics, the updated models, better pacing, more weight to the characters.
This looks like it's gonna be a a next good platform fighter alongside smash.
at least until Rivals 2 comes out
I hope Mr. Krabs has a chance at becoming a playable character instead of being part of a stage. His inclusion will get us all the main characters from the show. Nevertheless, SpongeBob looks amazing with his new moveset.

Glad the character showcases have finally started, but I'm not sure if I like this more straightforward format.
The showcases of the first game were so much fun to watch and packed in sooo many references while explaining every single move, whereas this feels more like a basic overview.
Might be to encourage getting to see all the references for ourselves once it drops

This actually looks really good! The only thing I'm not 100% on is the characters seem to blend into the environment more in this game compared to the first but game mechanics wise this is looking hooooot!

This Presentation for SpongeBob SquarePants was Great. Love how the Game looks and new changes to SpongeBob's moveset. Also like that Eugene Krabs makes an appearance in the stage, really can't wait to play this Game when it releases!

This Presentation for SpongeBob was Great. Love the new changes to SpongeBob's moveset and the Mermaid Man Costume. We saw a few other Stages and they look Amazing. The combos look Sick and like that Mr Krabs makes an appearance in the stage. Can't wait to see more of these Character showcases.
So glad I just saw this on my home page, I was really waiting for more news on this game. And oh, no full moveset breakdowns like the first game? That's a shame but oh well, guess it's a bit snappier now. Glad to see the Reef Blower is incorporated into his moveset this time around. Didn't know that clapping move from the reveal trailer was gonna be an attack; thought it was gonna be a taunt. And ugh, speaking of which, ChickenBob is back...
Wasn't expecting to see Mr Krabs show up on the Fry Cook Games stage but it makes plenty sense. I know many will be unhappy about it, but I'm fine with him not being playable because we already got two SpongeBob newcomers in this game already and other series need to get some love as well, plus I don't see him being that interesting moveset-wise. Also a much better look at the San Lorenzo stage, nice!

In Smash Bros there's a stage with Toon Link in the background who's replaced with an NPC if he's fighting
