dude when this band came out i was in diapers and when they formed i wasn't even alive i wish that i was old enough to appericiate this band when they came out they are soo revolutionary and i love how there songs are meaningful and they fucking rock
love the interviewer almost as much as the interviewee...the guy seem really into what tom morello had to say. the interview was interesting as alway and...tom morello is correct about bush (name not worth capitalizing) as always
i see where your coming from, and have often thought about this, and to an extent i agree with you. in the first part of this interview, he says they complained about the clinton administration. totally different than the bush administration. i think that no matter who is in office, people like tom morello will surface and protest whoever it may be. so in practice, people like him are not about achieving perfection, but getting as close as you possibly can, even if you can never achieve it.
"Technically, at that time all Canadians were British subjects but what people are referring to is where the British soldiers were born. While the officers were mostly British born the remainder were Canadian born British subjects. Either way, since Canada and England were much more closely linked at the time, Canadians (or at least Canadian born soldiers) were responsible." That's what I'm referring to and it was August 24, 1814.
all true, but the truth is despite this varied ancestor he is still black regardless if he is mixed or not. A white person who has irish and other roots is still considered white, i personally don't agree with such generalizations of people but unfortunately that's something i cannot change. So you don't have to be 100% African to be labelled as black. I am sometimes placed in that category as well and i am East Indian mixed with Italian
@Runescapesanta I wouldn't blame it on the sharing aspect. Its the whole thing about "dictatorship of the proletariat" marx wrote about. Not to mention the whole thing about a temporary dictatorship @ the start of the revolution, for some reason the dictators never want to pass the tourch.
He's definitely a smart and educated man. It's interesting to hear his views. I agree with a lot of what he says, but I'm more of an anarchist than a socialist. He started out as an anarchist, but then became more of a socialist later on. It just goes to show you that even though they're on opposite sides of the spectrum, they have a lot in common.
You can find a million mistakes in practically anything, but go ahead and look up all the GOOD things he did. They are the more important facts which explain why he is a renowned freedom fighter.
@jacobiversen1 - Rage Against The Machine was one of the best bands of the 90's. But Audioslave was actually one of my favorite bands from 00-10. RATM was more fierce, had more power and the songstructures was often more inventive. Stil dough, I'm glad to have both bands to enjoy today. Both are great bands in my book :-)
Well, it's a question of getting the message out there. Can you name any politician who has had true "Fans" for as long as he has?. Who'll pay to see his shows etc? I'd say he's doing the right thing.
@CarbineKingClassic I completely agree. What most liberals don't understand is what gives corporations their power; and its the central bank that deficit finances our government, which allows our government to reward corporate lobbyists, pay for unconstitutional wars and programs without directly taxing the people, which in turn distorts prices and competition. And your 110% right about individualism; because without individualism there is no collectivism.
I don't think going to Harvard changed his dialect. He is just a very smart and educated person. Also being an entertainer probably makes public speaking very simple after years and years. Being from Chicago myself I don't hear anything that resembles the unique qualities of our lingo as you may call it. I guess overall I disagree with your post 100%.
@kbr7171 yeah, i mean its only natural that when ure takin over and startin a new government. ure gonna be a politician. and obviously all politicians are alike. know wot i mean?
LOL I really don't mind if he's Greek or Italian because I'm part Greek and part Italian :D hahahah :p But he is Italian . His mom Mary Morello was Irish and Italian. so..
Dude, don't call me names just because you don't agree with what I have to say. I would have valued and accepted your opinion if you hadn't been so rude.
What you said about money reminds me of a famous quote by Marx: Bring paper money into a country where this use of paper is unknown, and everyone will laugh at your subjective imagination.

love the interviewer almost as much as the interviewee...the guy seem really into what tom morello had to say. the interview was interesting as alway and...tom morello is correct about bush (name not worth capitalizing) as always

Government doesn't make the people; people make the government.
"See Perry Farrell"! There is a Rocker that makes sense
so is RATM done or not?
What d'you mean? They're back together since 2007
He's definitely a smart and educated man. It's interesting to hear his views. I agree with a lot of what he says, but I'm more of an anarchist than a socialist. that will be intresting to see what happens.
There's only so much a teenager can do man...

Hahahaha "Misquoted by Fox News (not surprisingly)" ! Love Tom, intellecualizes the instruments and music.
You can find a million mistakes in practically anything, but go ahead and look up all the GOOD things he did. They are the more important facts which explain why he is a renowned freedom fighter.

Hah, okay "Ron Rutherford."
Well, it's a question of getting the message out there. Can you name any politician who has had true "Fans" for as long as he has?. Who'll pay to see his shows etc?
I'd say he's doing the right thing.

Ronrutherford
To say he worships him may be going a little to far, he can take ideals used by him and take that into his ideas and creativity.
the new york "maphia?" and you're correcting other people's spelling errors? wow.
I don't think going to Harvard changed his dialect. He is just a very smart and educated person. Also being an entertainer probably makes public speaking very simple after years and years. Wo00oo0t!!! GO NINTENDO!!!
Ted Williams played baseball for the Red Sox. there, now we've both made a comment entirely irrelevant to the topic
@scotchnjake ummm... Marx was an economist. By the way, are you a tea partier by any chance.
Dude, don't call me names just because you don't agree with what I have to say. I would have valued and accepted your opinion if you hadn't been so rude.
Why do u act all surprised at ex-member? don't u know that rage broke up in 2000?

@sweatysven yes he is black
What you said about money reminds me of a famous quote by Marx:
Bring paper money into a country where this use of paper is unknown, and everyone will laugh at your subjective imagination.
Audioslave broke up in 2007.
Hey, I forgot to tell you guys. Kanye West interrupted Patrick Swayze's funeral..... He said Micheal Jacksons was better.
Is Tom half black by any chance?
What? Nah, man. His dad was the first Kenyan delegate to the UN.
