Serving God requirea being a Christian. And being a christian means to model your life after christ at least as much as humanly possible. And if you think Christ would support abortion and homosexuality then you dont know anything about serving God. You maybe forgiven for it. But that requires repentance. And repentance requires an about face. You cant continue in your sin freely on a daily basis. Or support the cause of it and expect to be accepted by christ. Christ came to forgive sin not condone it ! So for this man to make these statements is not christ like. And if your standing in the pulpit and preach acceptance of sin. Then you are committing blasphemy. You are using the lords name to encourage people to commit sin. You cant support programs ot back politicians who promote these things. Two or more people cannot walk together lest they be agreed. If you stand with this man and you stand with liberal Democrats you promote sin and the acceptance of sin. Exactly Jeff. And Jeff you will never find a sermon by MLK preaching salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. You will never find one. The name Jesus Christ is a stumbling block and foolishness for these preachers.
      1 Corinthians 1:23-24
      23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
That is why they sound like fools. This man glorifies the creations of God BUT NOT the Creator. He an others like him always glorify trees, plants , mother Earth, the Universe, the spirit in the air (not the Holy Spirit).
      Romans 1:21-25
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
They love to preach their sermons on the skin color of man.(Black Pride, White Pride, Red Pride, Yellow Pride...blah blah blah) Same game different name. And the I AM THAT I AM, God The Father hates the prideful.
      Psalm 10:4
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
      Psalm 59:12
For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
      Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
      Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
      1 Timothy 3:6
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
      1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

A sermon that centers around social relevance rather than the Good News of the gospels is a false message. As a political statement, this is a fine piece of work (actually it points to problems with no hint of solution, but that's ok). As a Christian sermon, it's extremely light. I suspect it's typical if many social justice black ministers. Sure the bible is referenced a few times, but where is the call to repentance? I guess the bible needs some editing as well. Is man fallen and in need of a savior of do we just need to form a V and keep flying? Very weak indeed.

You probably don't realize it, but not only are you being racist and extremely narrow-minded, but you're also being rather ignorant as well. Not only is his message typical of most Baptist messages (from black,s whites, etc..), but your inane requirement that every single message have a call to repentance is the silliest thing I've heard anyone say. I can only assume you're here for political reasons and you don't really speak to anything religious as your blatant ignorance gives you away.

@@DanJohanssonJLB I'm glad you've sat through many. And I'm glad you're aware that Baptist sermons are not monolithic. The real question is, have you sat through many of Warnock's sermons? I'd be hard-pressed to judge all his sermons from just this one. I agree with you in terms of preference of substance and biblical references. I like sermons that are more biblically based myself, though there are others who differ from me and prefer their sermons to be more application based rather than strewn with many biblical references. But to go so far as to take one of his sermons and attribute it to all black ministers is extremely short sighted. I've listened to a lot of Baptist ministers, both blacks and whites. And I can tell you I've noticed more similarities across color than within the same color. The substance (or lack thereof) is not attributable to their race, but to their individual style. Of course, I know others who would disagree with both of us and say the real difference is not racial, or individual, but regional.

When I asked you who your Jesus is my hope was you would speak to who he is and not what he did. What he did and what he said was important. "Surely he took up our pain
      and bore our suffering,

Sheesh, I’m not even going to touch on his misunderstanding of economics. The way he twists and adds to the text for the purpose of self (or black) edification is appalling. Did he even mention Jesus? This has nothing to do with glorifying Christ. In fact, he completely belittles the cross. He removes sin and makes the blood of Christ unnecessary. As a result, salvation purchased by Christ is worthless to this man’s theology. His hope is in things transient, not eternal. This preaching is the very reason why less than 1% of missionaries are black. The black church is far more concerned about their own demographic’s temporary social well-being than about the Great Commission-the whole reason for the church’s existence. Actual Godly black men, like Voddie Baucham, get shunned from the black church for exposing this truth. It’s abhorrent.
