So How Many Perfect Card Tricks Are Up His Sleeve? | Meet Jason Ladanye | Profoundly Pointless - Zábava
Jason is one of the best sleight of hand artists around today, probably living legend status, and an inspiration to card mechanics everywhere.
I was amazed by how good he was
Douglas Conn is great as well!
The replies he gets on his youtube shorts are awesome as well!
And even a lot of it isn't sleight of hand, it's just his insane skill at shuffle stacking and being able to count and keep track of where the cards are.
A combination of magic and mechanics A+
This is the best interview with Jason out there. Deserves a lot more credit.
Thanks! Really appreciate the kind words and you taking time to check it out. We tried to do him justice. Great magician
Anybody who is discouraged from doing something or believe they are topped out at their profession, watch Jason's card mechanics... He is a master class of persistence and training over and over and over. He is an inspiration. He is the one guy that doesn't do "Tricks" or illusions... It is unwavering skill. At this point I doubt Jason would even touch gimmick decks, I doubt he would ever want that to tarnish his skill
Jason is so good that people always think he uses camera-tricks. Just look at the comment section on his videos 😎
Jason is my favorite magician! ❤
This is gold. Jason is an incredible speaker on top of his card skills. Thanks for this!
love watching jasons videos hes just so good, glad you had him on
Thanks for checking it out. He’s seamless
@@profoundlypointlesshe is I just found him n I’m struck!
Jason is one of the best I have seen.
Shame your video quality was so bad! Jason deserves better.
I love Ladanyes works
What an extraordinary talent. And what a lot of deck’s of cards! Brilliant video.
Great interview but it's a bit frustrating that the camera cuts away from the cards during the magic demonstration
I will never make the mistake of using Zoom speaker mode for interviews again. I tried to fix it but there was no way. Thanks for checking it out.
@@profoundlypointless It's ok man, I still enjoyed the interview :) Thanks for the reply and for having Jason over and asking great questions!
he comes off more humble here than in his youtube shorts. i like it. nice interview thanks
couldnt be that hard to sync up the audio though lol
Mann, I tried so hard with this one. I think it was set to a variable frame rate so it just kept changing. Drove me nuts
Thanks for checking out the episode though. I think it’s part of his personality, but it is just a character he’s playing
@@profoundlypointless no worries you rule
😂 yeah this is an interview as opposed to a show where he's in character, but his character matches him so well it's so believable
Absolutely stunning! Blown away Mind captivating
I watch Jason on instagram he’s absolutely amazing 🤩 and the wow factor blows me away every time I watch him , there’s not a trick I can say I think I have an idea of how he does it he’s just pure perfection if he comes to uk 🇬🇧 I would definitely go to his shows. ❤
He is a Grand Master, it's a simple as that.
Haven’t watched yet but am intrigued to see Jason not “in character” in which he turns the snark up for comedic effect.
I Love this interview!
Thanks for the vid. Thus came up on my feed. Just a tip. Say the name of the person you're interviewing
Jason Ladayne keeping kayfabe alive 😂
If you pause or go 0.25x speed at 47:21 you can spot the K and 10 of spades as he spreads them with his finger, but there's no 9 of hearts to be seen anywhere. That's because the 9 of hearts was cut to the top... his blue deck was entirely memorized. He knew exactly which cards were at which positions. 27 cards down is the 9 of hearts. All of the "shuffling" was false shuffling. So he controlled the 9H to the top or near the top (which he made sure to cover when spreading) and then culled all the in between cards as he riffled down until the victim said stop. POOF, the 9H now appears to be between the KS and 10S.
So according to your description, the guy just happened by chance to name the number 27, which was the numbered position the 9 was at..? Erm, no. You are so wrong.g
What a great video.
My FAVORITE that boggles me is the poker chip landing on the card. I bought your lecture and getting your books.
His level of confidence is higher than most
At 45:12 when you slow it down to 0.25x speed, there's a jump cut, did he ask you to take out a few frames? It's right where the card would appear between the 2 jokers, it's pretty suspicious.
You don't get nearly as many views and subs as you deserve bro. You are a better interviewer than most of these "big names" with podcasts
Hey Jay, thanks so much for taking the time to say that. It's really the kind of stuff that keeps me/us going. I think these stories are interesting....and even if the YT algorithm doesn't, it's enough knowing that other people enjoy it too.
great video
I’ve seen pictures of Jason hanging with some TOP guys who do The Real Work.
Just discovered this Ladanye.... he is cocky and antagonistic, but i like it... very authentic.
The character works so well for him, it's so much better than the typical magician
a bit of a jerk - too bad he has to speak
@@RingJando One thing I caught on early in the video was - buy some cheap magic gimmick.... which to me, and perhaps as a new magician with disabilities, is where I'm starting. I get that he is very good, worked very hard and skilled with good presence. Maybe I'm sensitive, but why put down something people start with as beginner?
I fuckin love this guy!
Dude what is with the Pointless segment…? You’re shooting yourself in the foot, that could be a second video/view/ad/opportunity for monetization. Also, I guarantee only a small percentage of viewers finish a video with that weird ass cut. This is a professional feeling interview, edit it like it is.
This guy is dope
Jason is just..... if i ever make it/win the lottery, im flying him over for my first party
I love AC rountines❤
I collect playing cards, it confuses me that he says they only made bicycle rider backs once and never to be made again. Does he mean a particular year or before uspcc moved to their new factory or what? Because they still make rider backs and it's the main deck they produce. Or was it just a troll and he means he just uses a plain jane card for consistency.
Wondering the same thing
Pretty sure he was trolling.
Wondering the same. I assumed he meant the ones printed in Ohio.
It was about the change in location. Richard Turner talks about doing the same thing before the old factory closed. Even though the cuts and standards are still the same, the old factory machines just gave them a different feel compared to todays.
He is talking about the deck that Richard Turner created. The bicycle gold seal. They're traditionally cut, they have bee stock and they're inspired in the old rider backs so that's the best deck in the world and now USPCC is not fabricating it anymore. That's why he says thay
Last trick from Jason is surprisingly simple. Both decks are stacked, he knows the position of every card. The stack tells him what position your chosen number’s card is. The second deck/same stack allows him to do a simple card control and force the same card from the red deck.
That's what amazes me about these tricks. It seems like it's never really complex, it's really just a simple trick
Seriously I've just practiced the first trick three times and the random card was the 3 of diamonds each time, maybe Jason is working with spirits 🤣🤣
What's with the random change at 49 minutes? It was very jarring to randomly switch to a new person. I thought we'd hear more about magic .
That’s the show. The profound (Jason) and the pointless (second half). I get that it’s kinda a surprise but I haven’t figure out a better way to do it yet. This is a rant on my part….but some people like only the first part, some only the second and some like both.
the transition could be smoother! What about a short thank you to the guest and then an outro-song?
Loved the interview, btw. As a card magician myself I grew up on Darwin Ortiz’ work and routinely came across Jason’s work. He is extremely skilled ❤
14:16 This guy threw Dani DaOrtiz under the bus faster than the eye can see
22:50 You don't say? : D
Give me the boy and I'll show you the man.
He is very good but check out Steve Forte and David Malek two of the greatest
He cut the deck 22 times. I counted.
I do a double sandwich transpo called Jack in the Box. I don’t know the origin. Anyone?
Can I see you doing it?? Any video?
Wtf in 2nd half vid? Wher is jason
He magically disappeared. We use to do the whole show as one episode. We've started splitting it now though
Dude, I can’t watch this video anymore. I’m a big fan of this guy and you just hacked it all to death! Next!
I’m curious what you mean. You didn’t like the interview or you didn’t like hearing about the behind the scenes stuff
"I didn't make you pick a card" lie number 1 😂
Played before you knew it was a game.
@Profoundly Pointless - a little ADVICE. Why are you going to have the world’s greatest card mechanic on your channel doing card tricks, to then proceed to cut to YOUR face over and over again WHILE he’s doing the trick? Please use some common sense next time and do better. Other than that great show
He Carl. Thanks for checking out the video. It wasn’t by choice. We had to use a different recording program than usual and it automatically cuts back and forth at the source. There was no way around it.
Lennart Green is better and has a better personality. Not as cocky.
Not personality, persona.
