I had no idea that I had to have the presser foot down to set the tension! Explains a lot of the reasons I was having problems getting the tension right. Thank you! I have only had my Juki for a couple of months, but I love it so far!

I wanted to cry every time I had to change a needle on my TL, it was so difficult for my slightly arthritic fingers, I never had that prob on my old Brother. I tried a plastic thingy that is supposed to hold the needle, total junk. I got a really sturdy, metal, one at my local sewing store, really clamps on to the needle to get that sucker inserted correctly. It was the best 5.99 I spent, no more tears. 😊

@@eljay5623 There is no name brand on it. I bought it at Montavilla Sewing in Beaverton, Oregon. It was 5.99. I tried to find one like it online but i can’t find it. Madam Sew has one that looks like it might be sturdy like mine.

I've had a TL2010 for about 6 years, and all that time I've been using the little door on the bobbin case to insert it into the machine. This explains why I've had occasional issues with the bobbin thread going all wonky because I never knew to listen for that "click"! Very helpful!

This is such a NECESSARY video. I have only had my TL-18 for about 2 months so I am still navigating my way around. I haven’t even watched the entire video yet and I have already discovered that I am not winding my bobbin correctly (never saw the tiny hole) and I never paid any attention to the top tension adjuster. Thanks so much for all the tips. 🤗

I love this video! One tip that I learned about threading with the needle threader from one of Boki's videos is to press the needle up and down button to get the needle to "reset", but don't crank it higher after that (like I used to!!) It can go higher, but Boki said that needle down/up gets it in the perfect position, not the highest position, which is key! Ever since, I've not had any issues with my needle threader!! I really liked your "flossing" tip! I think that is a terrific way to make sure the thread is really seated where it should be! Thanks, HD!!

My error was that I was wondering why my machine wouldn’t cut my threads or do the auto threading. I was using a 70 weight industrial thread. I used that same thread when I took my machine into the introductory class for my machine at my dealers store. They didn’t correct me either; they said to bring it into the repair shop and have them look it over. I learned more from your CZcams videos than I ever did from them. Thank you so much!

Before buying my 2010Q I watched every video out there, read reviews etc. Two most common complaints were the needle threader not working (I have the same problem but am going to make sure now I do it exactly as this wonderful video shows). The second thing is the thread cutter. Most reviews said the same thing - that it cuts the threads too short, requiring a needle re-thread which was a pain. While I'm hoping the threader will now work (though it hasn't been bad manually threading despite somewhat poor eyesight - I keep a magnifier close by), I don't believe there is a fix to the thread being cut too short. LOVE this machine no matter the two little quirks.

I don't have a Juki yet, I am not sure which one I should be getting, so I will contact you. But, that said, this is an outstanding video! Great tips and insights! (i.e., threading with the pressure foot down, and setting the upper tension with the foot down. While these tips make sense, as a self-taught sewer I never knew this and didn't necessarily do it that way.) The filming in this video is excellent for teaching and explaining too! I really appreciate that. The oiling of the hook, or where the bobbin case gets inserted - "the 2nd ledge" and showing it zoomed in while spreading out the oil was so well demonstrated and communicated! These tips are valuable for all sewers! Thank you so very much. I am not so afraid of a long distance purchase of such an investment. Your support is outstanding! Thank you!!

I have had my Juki Tl18 for a few years now. I love her. I would oil everywhere more than I did the bobbin area. Today my top stitches were off. I did everything several times and still not right. I was putting the bobbin in with the door opened and not oiling it as much. It won't click at all. I ordered a new bobbin case to see if that fixes the problem. Fingers crossed. 🤞 Will be oiling it more often and closing the door. Thank you for such an informative video. I didn't know the little hole before the tension disk needed to be threaded en route to the bobbin winder. I was also inserting the bobbin case while holding the little lever open, and I didn't know about the click.
I wonder if you should update this video regarding the frequency of oiling, since your more recent one says every 3 months is sufficient, as opposed to the user manual which has us oiling the machine much too frequently.

Very good information. Thank you. Some of it I did not know about. I have one issue that I hope you can address. When I stop sewing the machine keeps stitching about 3 stitches before it stops. Even when I push the needle up down it will stitch 3 stitches. I have no idea how to fix it. When I first got the machine it was right on. Now I have to time those silly 3 stitches that are always further than where I want to stop. I am sure it must have something to do with the timing, but how do I fix it.

I got a juki 2000qi for Christmas brand new in the box. It has caused me nothing but headaches. Due to me being ignorant mostly. So I got the tension set and then when I started to sew it started skipping stitches.I read that the hook timing was off and so I adjusted the needle arm and now it's not stitching at all. It will move but it won't pick up my bobbin thread and I'm frustrated because I'm not used to all this work to be able to sit and sew. Help please!
