Let's take a look back at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China, where the USA set a new Olympic record in Men's 4×400 metres relay, winning ahead of the teams of Bahamas and Great Britain. With a time of 2:55.39 in the final, Team USA with LaShawn Merritt, Angelo Taylor, David Neville, and Jeremy Wariner beat their own Olympic record from the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

A lot of people seem to think that track and field only has a few events in it, such as the sprints. They have an extremely talented group of middle-distance runners (3:29 1500m NR by Stewy McSweyn and 3:48 mile NR also by McSweyn), distance runners (Mottram's 12:55 5000), the high jump in Brandon Starc with a 2.36m NR, Watt was a long jumper over 8.50, Clark once ran a 44.3, Patrick Johnson with a 9.93 100m, don't talk about stuff you know absolutely *nothing* about. Yes we're much better in the pools than on the track but then again we're not terrible in either.

Alexeev popped on his Beijing sample retest in 2016 (and also failed a test in 2013) so the team was retroactively DQ'd.
Dyldin went on to refuse to give a sample and was given a 4 year ban in 2017.
Kokorin is the only one to actually physically return his stripped medal last I heard.

Jeremy Warinner is the smoothest men's 400 meter runner... second only to Michael Johnson. Lashawn Merrit comes at #3 in that order. The current world record holder Wayde van Niejerk isn't smooth a runner as these three... he's only the fastest.
