He's hilarious without even trying
One of the best character actors of his generation! Glad he's finally getting more recognition and bigger roles these past 5 years!
Jenelle is hands-down one of the best interviewers working today. She is so well prepared and laid back at the same time.
"Once you're on TV it's like getting a tattoo on your face." Hysterical and so true.
Love how honest he is about Pearl Harbor, so funny
very rare to find an Actor who is down to earth but yet out of this world at the same time haha I can watch this guy drink coffee.
Michael Shannon is awesome! Hilarious and intelligent.
Every time Michael Shannon breaks the fourth wall I get weak and aroused. When I first saw my son my son what have ye done I absolutely understood the quality of this guy's acting. He is so intelligent and also just so real. Absolutely amazing.
I like how he is serious and funny at the same time. Great laid back guy to hang with.
I laughed a lot more watching this interview than I thought I would.
Saw the man on boardwalk empire was totally one of my favs , now every movie he dose I watch , super underrated
For someone who you think of as being such a serious actor his delivery and comic timing is amazing. Him talking about being told to be funny and then delivering the "here, be in the film about one of our nations great tragedies"
On top of being a great actor, he's so wonderfully weird!!!!! Love him!!!
he's a very eccentric individual. you can definitely see his quarks. he's always so serious in his acting so confident. in real life is just a big kid. i would actually have to say he's one of my favorite actors he ranks up there with al pacino for me. awesome guy.
I approve the lady interviewer. She's doin an awesome job. I like her.. And Shannon has been my fave actor since I don't know when. He's like hands down one of few best working actors till these dates. Wish him a long amazing career in films and off stage
I could watch him talk about making bread for five hours and feel thoroughly entertained.
I f*cking love Michael Shannon's no bullsh*t intensity; reminds me of Leonardo Dicaprio. First time I saw him was in that bizarre/disturbing Bug movie. So glad he has been cast in some incredible indie stuff to showcase his unreal acting talents.
great insight into a great actor
Great great interview. Michael Shannon is my fave actor. And Jenelle Riley, I've seen a lot of these SAG Q&As and you rock! :)
I love how he had no plans to end up in film or become a Hollywood actor he was just initially happy getting to do theatre and work a part time job on the side then gradually people saw talent in him and gave him his break but you can tell if he was still just doing theatre he would be just as content lol
Incredible actor. Too bad they keep trying to typecast him into "crazy guy" roles, while he definitely excels at it, I'm sure he has a bigger range than that.
Agreed! I'd very much like to see him in a romantic role, and not necessarily in the painfully self-aware 'look I'm Michael Shannon ostensibly not fitting in' way
I could see him in a dark comedy or even as a talk show host.
I love Michael Shannon!
he was great in revolutionary road
this guy is awsome! so trully honest and realistic ,and so self critics, never knew him from this angle! very inteligent man ,pure soul...
The first movie I saw him in was pearl harbor and 8 mile and then when I saw him in bug I was blown away by his performance and he was definitely good in Revolutionary road.
I love him great performances. 👍
Loved him for awhile but just now found out he was the kid in Groundhog Day that Bill gave the wrestlemania tickets to
I think he's amazing !! I adore this guy.
Janelle dresses so well. She dresses with flair. She is an excellent communicator that we who listen, appreciate!
Man, I love this interview. So interesting and funny.
In the movie The Shape of Water was amazing.
He was so good .
Somebody said Michael is the white version Samuel L Jackson....LMFAO (Spit out my coffee)
He should play Bukowski.
He's funny without even trying. :-)
This is a fantastic interview on both sides, I enjoyed it immensely. An idea, for those putting this together. How about a nice set for actors/actresses to sit in, and look professional with during an interview. This looks like some little kids playroom with backyard fold up furniture. Set it up to look professional.
So glad he made this point 43:42 - 44:16 :-)
great impersonation of herzog!!
Real artist
19:15 Damn....
He'd be perfect playing Vic Morrow if they made a biopic about him.
I need to see him and Harrison Ford interact 🤣
I gotta find a way to get a job working for this guy.
the guy's deadpan personified.
Guys, check out 18:06.its so weirdly funny
Haha, love that look he gave her
You can hear his Chicago accent
In conversation with general zord
Which was the clip they mentioned could be found on youtube? I think it was a comedy
Edit: Found it, 58:13 'They Came Together'
he was trying to give good thoughtful answering but everybody laughed. That was the weirdest interview I have ever seen.
19:20
he is funny
John is not well!
16:00 - 18:08
Don
He’s my neighbor.
King Nathan Wait, seriously? Lucky duck!
Surely
I agree about Pearl Harbor. Very silly film.
Reily at least keeps it going. But her fakeness is matched by Shannons authenticity.
