Kim whenever you do this keep a basket with you. Whenever you need to use something soon put on that basket and then take to your everyday pantry at the end
I have a collapsible basket that hangs on a hook at end of my pantry shelves. I pull anything within 60 days of current date and take go the kitchen to be used in the meal plan. I have a particular corner of the kitchen for them..so seeing them every day pushes me to use them.
Great idea
What a great idea! Iâve been using grocery bags when I need anything, never thought to do this!
@@susansnyder6830 I have a wicker basket just for the use first. I have found it's best for me to date everything as it comes in. Things I've bought recently best by is before things I've bought 6 months to 1 year ago, sadly.
Laundry basket works too
For my pantry I mark the exp date on the top and the front label with a sharpie as it is put away. Takes a few extra minutes but when it comes to check and rotate day I donât have to search for the dates. They are right there front n center. And it helps others to see the dates and use the right ones. Very nice set up you have there! đž
This is what I do also. Even on things that I can.
I do this also! Makes it much easier đđ
I do the same thing. It makes it so much easier when the kids are helping put items away or getting things from my stock.
I do the same thing. It is a quick way to see the dates! If it is a package/box of pasta, for example, I also put the date I opened it. I live alone, so it takes a bit longer to use items up.
Yup, i do this too.
Don't you just absolutely love the 5 minutes that things stay organized đ
You get a whole 5 minutes???? đ€Ł
@@nickelrok1441 Lolđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
You are not weird. You are proud of your accomplishment. I got you on this one because I do the same thing. We just did a big front yard project and I opened the front door so I could look at it. My husband said what are you doing? I said just looking. We do the same thing with our babies.

You go Kim!! Awesome job! I love projects like this, they are so fulfilling. Sometimes I like just standing in my pantry looking at it đ€·ââïž I know I'm weird đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Oh, it's weird? I do it all the time! đ
I'd love to have a pantry like this ! I'd be doing the same đ
Me,too! Feels so good & calming to know that this area of life is in good/great shape!
@Kim Stanley you're not weird. I like to do the same thing. Just looking my pantry. I think it makes us feel peaceful.
Looking at my pantry gives me a sense of accomplishment. Its the one thing in this crazy world I can control.
You are one of the best stocked I have seen...keep on trucking
Always fun to watch how you do your stocking. I have been stocking for years and it's nothing new to me. The important thing is not to stock what you aren't going to use. I also do canning my own food. This is so rewarding to me. I am surprised that you don't do canning. I had enough food to get me through the winter without having to go to the store except for fresh fruit and fresh veggies. Even though I do can many of those, I can't do lettuce, and want some oranges etc. that are fresh. I even canned cider, as I know the price goes up in the winter, so I have that on hand too. I have two big freezers and one small one for what I will use for a couple weeks. That's where I don't do inventory as much as I should. Although I did buy a lot of meats before the prices went sky high. One freezer is for meats, and the other is for fruits and veggies etc. It works for me. Also, if my neighbor needs something and can't get to the store, they know they can come over and get something. They are very good about replacing it when they go out next time. I call it my indoor shopping go to store. We also bake a lot together and come up with some fun foods. Her husband and kids test it for us LOL. Keep up the good work, always enjoy your videos. Greetings from Western, N.Y.
I transferred all my boxed items into long term food safe containers. This also includes pastas, flower, rice. I vacuumed sealed a ton of my items because of the current situation in the world.
It is truly a thing of beauty! My pantry/food storage is in so many different spots. It's just how my house is with space.
Same here.

This vid is SO timely! I just said this morning (to my dog actually as she tried to slink around a grocery tote of items to go downstairs to the food storage cupboard) It's time to spend some quality time in there and get some stuff re-organized. The kids have been going in to fetch stuff for me and using other things in their lunches, and of course, there's always a little bit of chaos when you haven't been paying strict attention to how things are being put away. since I KNOW that this needs to get done, I have been putting off taking new items down (I'm a Cricket) b/c I don't want them to get stored improperly in the name of just putting them away. Following along with the yearly schedule you set us on last year has been SO helpful to continuing my food storage journey! I've been at it, overall for 20+ yrs now, but having this new perspective has been so helpful to taking stock of what I have, what I need and finessing overall goals for my Emerg Prep! Thank you SO much!
Don't I know it my son goes shopping in my pantry alot for snacks and by the time I went through it to re organize I took an old crisper drawer and it was heaping full of multi snacks he had so many boxes open I put in open and newer boxes in a tote so the kids use the older stuff for school lunches ..
The inventories are so helpful. I now can compare year by year and plan how many green beans to plant for how many pints to pressure can. Daily step forward to care for my family.
Love my inventory sheets. They are what I use to meal plan with so update freezer at the middle to end of the month to get ready for the next month. It does help to build a shopping list too. So excited you had helpers to bring and take things. It is so much easier when you have someone to run back and forth. It also helps The whole family know how hard you work to keep it clean in there!
Thank you, Kim! You are the one who taught me a long time ago about logging inventory of the pantry. I now know how much of an item I have, but I also log the expiration dates. I can quickly see what needs to be ate first and how much I need to purchase. Great organization idea, Kim! I am teaching my daughter's, now.
Superb job! You have the greatest organized pantry. We have a small house & no pantry, no attic, no basement but I have extra canned foods stored under some beds. I recently put a shoe bag on the back of the door for our water heater, I use the shoe bag to store extra condiments like bbq sauce, syrup, soy sauce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, etc.
Love how you store and regroup your food pantry stockpile. some great ideas on orgnizing. loved it. xxx
I love how organized you are in keeping track of expiration dates so you don't have to throw stuff away. I see so many people on youtube throw away so much when they clean out their pantries.
Kimmi, you are a inspiration ! Loving the shelving units ! Love how organized you are!

Absolutely loved this video! Weâre closing on a new home on Friday and I have one bedroom dedicated to food storage!! You were the first person to inspire me to do this. Iâm down here in Texas đ€ where we donât have case lot sales. After watching how Utah stocks their stores with long term items & cases for sale, I got very irritated. Why wouldnât they just try a once or twice a year sale and see how it goes? Oh, well. I did start strategizing differently like you taught in your videos. Iâve now looked at prices per can and then the price to buy a case. Itâs not as rough as it would seem. Our rental has weird piles of tons of different pastas, 5 big laundry soaps, cases of veggies, broth etc that I didnât have room to organize here. Plus, canning jar cases in the front room, one or two by the kitchen and probably 4 in our loft. The house looks wacky here with items. Well, our landlord setup showings and I guess weekend before last there were cars lined up on the street to see the house. Oh my goodness! I canât imagine what people thought! LOL. Truly Kimmie, thank you for really walking us through this step by step. Iâve now watched a lot of other CZcamsrs that espouse the same method. But you showed realistically how a homemaker can make it work for each of us! Iâve rewatched many of your videos on this topic. Keep the vlogs coming as much as your comfortably able! Even laundry chat was fun. Nobody wants you to make yourself vulnerable with sharing specifics of your personal life, but just some more chatty videos along with a specific point, theme, lessons would be great. I love the chatty ones because we really feel like weâre hanging out with you! Love to you Sweetie!
I love these types of videos. They are calming and helpful. Even if I can just listen fixin to leave for work or am in the truck already. God Bless you and your family.

Yay I have been doing the same as well. Time to clean up and restock as well as our 72 hrs kit
We also just re-organized, getting our food storage combined from several different places (like under the beds) to ensure I have a better handle on re-stocking needs. I drove my husband crazy cutting down our larger boxes so I could stack cans much easier. Had a âDuh!â moment after watching your video so thank you for that! - Lynn
Your floral blouse is very pretty in this video. A bright touch of spring. Be blessed, Cheryl
I just did this same thing today with my 11 year old. She was a huge help writing everything down while I organized.
Yey, I can already tell this is going to be a great video :)
âŒïžâŒïžâŒïžGo Kimmie go! âŒïžâŒïžâŒïžI've got both my long and short term preps organized. In February I was on a wild tear to get it done. đđ» I just need to a physical inventory. I keep it all on a spreadsheet. I took a mental inventory while organizing and filled in where needed. Wishing we had case lot sales. Not compatible with our market.
Nice food storage room! I wish I had that much extra space but I can stock up a little with the space I have. Thanks for the motivation!
Thank you for sharing this. I canât not wait for part 2. Very motivational to start my own stock pile for my family.
You did a beautiful job, Kimmy!! â€ïžđâ€ïžđ Glad you found my inventory list useful. I love how you play with your cans. đ You should be very, very proud of yourself. đ
Love this video! I've been using prepper nerds system for a year I love it because it gives you notifications when things are getting close to the best by date. I don't think I could ever go back to doing paper method again.
This video is perfect timing!!! I'm doing my pantry today and needed some ideas and inspiration âșđ
This was so much fun! Organization is my love language! đ That is a very impressive stock too. Great job Kim!
love this video. we bought a freeze dryer and are planing our garden. i cant wait till the veggies start coming in.
Wow your videos gave me some motivation I actually just cleaned out our deep freezer today.. I still have an entire working pantry to organize and I think I will do that tomorrow.. I might rewatch this video so I get motivated again so thanks for this!!!
Great video and inspiration. I hang some scissors next on my shelf to make cutting plastic off so much easier.
Love love this video!! This is my jam. Organizing is fun to me. Iâm about to do this again, as well. Thanks for showing the steps you take and how you think your way through it. Looking forward to your next vidđ

Love these videos these are so motivating. We are moving soon and I have been, watching these to make a game plan for the new place
I used a lot of crates to help move all this
It's interesting. I'm cleaning n doing inventory on my prepper pantry today!
I'm so glad you are doing this. I know people who shop for a day of meals and that is it. They don't have any stock at all. I have been trying to get them to even stock for a week. When the world stopped they had nothing. I helped them out but I did tell them if you had stocked pantry I would not have to be giving them my stock they would have had it. They now started to get some stock. I sent them to your channel.
Yay! Can't wait for part two. Thanks for the link to the printables!

Great video! Love the huge pantry. Need to organize my stock pile. Kids call it my store. đ
This is so inspirational! I need to check my pantry and make a list of the items we need.
Great job! Every week I keep looking for what area I need to stock up on next with the money set aside for stocking up. I have the foods that I've personally all canned and inventoried, but I need to go through my other shelves and see exactly what the inventory amounts of those are. I also know I need to get some more 5 gallon buckets. I love these videos. As I'm watching it, I'm writing things down that I know I want to check my inventory of when I go home. Some I know for sure, like chicken noodle soup. I've been wanting to get it at Aldi, but they haven't had any for a month now.
This was so awesome and I needed to see this, but girl , you wore me out just watching you. So glad you had help too! When I get around to doing mine, it will just be me, but thereâs only two of us! Get some sleep and Iâll be waiting for the others. Thank you!
Wow you donât even look tired at 1:30 am after working all day! Youâve got me motivated to work on organizing my pantry (not as big as yours). I like being able to make whatever I want by shopping out of my pantry without having to go to the store or shopping from a meal plan. This is so important especially nowâŠeven if my son thinks itâs too much lol.
My daughter thinks it's over the top too lol God bless
My younger kids (the ones living at home still 18 and 21) thinks mom is a bit daft of about this. I told them when they have families of their own and are responsible for feeding them they will appreciate what I have done.
What a wonderful storage room, so beautiful, I have a closet in spare room and large cupboards in a hallway. You make me want to get mine more organized, thanks Diana NZ âșïž
This was such an amazing video Kimmy and super helpful! Hope you continue to share these types of videos with us! đâ€ïž Loved it đđ»
Wow its beautiful! I love organizing spaces

This is fantastic!!! I need to do this!
Denise from Germany. Girl you look amazing at 1.30am, you are brilliant. I learn so much from you. Thank you for sharing.

Your pantry looks so nice and neat and so organized where you are able to put your hands on everything. đđŸâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
So jelly of your pantry. Looks fabulous.
Another thing that is helpful is having a three month basket and a one month basket so I know what is coming up to be out of date and what is a month and under and it's out of date and it helps me know what needs to be re-bought and what needs to be used up right away. It really helps me so much. Thanks for all you do and I love it all and take care!
I am a very organized person. Some of my friends call be an analist (haha)
But I have been doing every thing that you recommended for your pantry but I did not think about separating the types of soups, veggies, fruits.. After watching this last utube of yours I went through my pantry and changed that as I now. I will be just be making a list to put in my shopping folder to take with me.
Thank you so much for the info as I will be using it now.â€ïž
Looks great Kim!
Love your pantry videos. Always inspires me.
Perfect timing. We moved into a house in November and turned our basement into food storage. I have yet to organize or inventory it. Will definitely use the printables. Going to try and get it done in the next week.
Thatâs great!!
I love the opening... This us why I leep coming back to watch you.
Love your videos on building a stockpile! You are so organized! Girl, I am messy as can be compared to you! Definitely taking notes!

That was a great job! And thank you for the link to the inventory sheets. Oh, and thank you for turning the labels forward, haha. It is one of my "things" that drives my family nuts. Omg! Thank you for the sheet reference!!! I lost my spreadsheet on my tablet when we moved! I have dreaded making the spreadsheets all over again.
Love love your vlogs.
Looks amazing đ
It's so much easier if you take a Sharpie Black Marker and write your dates on the front of cans, boxes or the sides that will show on the shelf. I do this when I bring them home and keeps me from having to constantly check the dates when I move the older ones up and put newer ones in back.
I do it on all groceries that you can write the expiration dates on.
I am going to print off the inventory sheets. I need a good way to track what I have on my storage shelves. I try to organize and straighten my shelves once a month. I hate to have them a mess or unorganized shelves in my storage room. Thanks for all the great videos and good ideas!!
Watching this video was so satisfying! đ
It looks so good. Very organized now you can find everything. Good to have that now that gas is going up and everything less trips to the store. Now to look just for sales to fill in. Good job
I order a lot of stuff on line too. Like Walmart, Costco (we only get the 2 day shipping where we live with Costco). I do 2 week grocery hauls on payday. I only go to the store on the off weeks for milk, bread and stuff we run out of. My husband doesn't like me to freeze bread. I don't mind but he does. Often times he does the shopping in the between week if I give him a list. So I often only go to the store twice a month (like today). I work full time so this works best for our family. It is nice that I now get to work from home as well. I can do little things on my breaks and lunches.
I should think that moving all your long-term storage items (Thrive, etc.) would be the way to go. You could keep them all in your daughter,s closet and know that is just the long-term stuff. It would be easier to not have things spread between four different areas. That would also free up space in your storage room to put more things on that top shelf and to bring whatever else you are storing in her closet (except for the long-term items) out to the storage room.
Looks great. Congratulations on getting it done.
I love to see youâre videos,I always learn something new. Watching you going through all the cans and food I remembered one tip I always do. I have a permanent marker and write the expiration dates on front so you donât have to check all the cans to know which one are sooner or later đ

BEAUTIFUL, Kim!! You've inspired me to get busy and do the same. Thanks. :-D
Great idea I just did mine. It was a 3 day job because I have a broken back and it is extremely painful and can only work 10 minutes before I lay on a heating pad for 5 minutes. Not supposed to be lifting over 2 lbs at a time either and can't touch the floor. I did it anyway because after being confined to bed for 3 months I found a rat had gotten into my pantry and destroyed all of my pasta. Plugged his hole where he chewed in and now I have thick hard plastic containers for Pasta, dehydrated potatoes, Rice and beans. In fact I put all dry goods in plastic containers in the end. Sure wish I had a pantry area your size mine is pretty small but adequate. I had a great idea. I was having trouble with food falling off the back of my metal shelving units. ( I can't push them back tight with the wall)
Anyway I used 4" wide duct tape and wrapped it around the back bars of my shelving units several times and it worked great.
Wow! This is so impressive. Youâve inspired me just recently to start a food storage. Itâs very wimpy compared to yours but it feels good to just start it. Thank you!
Awesome! Keep going and add a little at a time. Keep inventory of what you have. That way things won't get confusing when you have a bigger supply later on.
Gorgeous! Good job and you are ready in the food department should "times get tough and even if they don't."
Nice stock pile !!! Would love to see quick food storage meal ideas.
