- INFERNAPE has an awesome ability that can accelerate fire and fighting energy from your hand to your pokemon. And it has a decent attack that deals 200 base damage. Can this card make an impact to the current Meta? Let's explore.
(This build was designed for 2024 STANDARD format Regulation Cards "F" through "TWM" Expansion)

“It’s for prerelease they don’t wanna make it overpowered”
Me: *looks at dipplin deck after losing to it for the 23rd time*
Lol 🤣 that is true! I guess it's just poorly designed 😔
I'm sorry brother but I love that apple 😂
The best way to play Palafin EX is to not play Palafin EX.
Are those cards still bugged in Live?
@@evanchismark3092 I can confirm they were still bugged as of yesterday.

You are right😂
Can't do any tests because of that 😂. I want to play it IRL so bad.
Infernape's ability to let you attach a fire and a fighting energy in one turn. It's really good with koridon EX
That first match was pretty bonkers, hell of a follow through
That Palafin EX whiffed so hard at the end lol
I think the Iono play really helped.
I actually really like infernapes energy ability. I think instead of running radiant charizard id run grennija instead. It can accelerate energy like gardy can but in a different way. I would try running it with cornerstone ogerpon and okidogi. Maybe something like dark patch to equip the dark energy from discard. If you want a radiant charizard replacement throw in a blood moon ursaluna.
This is a great suggestion. Thanks
My guyyy!!!!! You made it 😂 awesome! 💪🏽
It's ok...
@@PopsicleKnight yea I saw the inconsistencies. Appreciate the content nonetheless PopKnight.. I built mine around Koraidon EX 👍🏼
I definitely attempted this combo at prerelease. Sadly I never did it successfully when I had the cards in question. Also, I think I saw one other person make a deck with it before this video but all I can recall from it is that it was only single prizers.
Imagine infernape dragapult becomes the bdif
What if...
Palafin didnt whiff anything. He already had retreated that turn. He needed to draw into a switch AND water energy and Palafin decks dont run switches usually. You got blessed lol
Wait this is kind of cool honestly
Thanks. Could be better though I think.
but what was that palafin deck. im curious.
I was looking for a build like this although i woud add a gouging fire and moltress 👀
Those are nice cards to have. thanks
I think a better way to play the infernape would be more like bax+pao using temporal forces groudon as the main attacker. Try and set up 2 apes and load up 4-5 energies every turn
Interesting combo. Thanks
Charizard ex from the 151 set is pleased with this. Not longer is it magma basin and armorouge.
Interesting 🤔
NGL I tried building a Infernape Groudon deck, but it just feels so awkward to play
Cleffa and Rotom for draw support only works if you have pidgeot ex for the sustain tho. Also, why aren't you playing any tm evos?
It's difficult to have all the cards you want sometimes because the deck is already tight. Otherwise you start sacrificing consistency.
I think you can attach both Fire and Fighting since it’s written “1 of each on your hand” right?? Idk
Yes one of each
And they do stack. So if you have the energy you can attach 2 fire and 2 fighting. Maybe use energy retrieval to get your energy back
There is a Camerup that can get 240 if it has both energy
Yes, but you have to have the energies first in your hand.
Infernape + raging bolt + dragon type koraidon ex = pretty decent hard hitting deck
yeah but raging bolt doest have a hard time hitting infernape's and Koraidon's damage and the energy you have to add to make those two work with bolt is debilitating
Interesting 🤔
Or something with a darkness energy Pokémon
ive got ALOT of dark energies waiting for the deck that doesnt have the word "box" in it.
I'm sad that boomerang energy doesn't seem to be better. It's a really cool effect but mons that discard energy either discard too many for manual attachment (greninja ex) or just die in one hit (like infernape here), making the investment not worth it. I don't want Lugia to be any better but it's funny that not even Lugia runs it.
I'll have to agree with you on that one, unfortunately
Baxcalibur really does make that infernape look shit lol
but that fighting energy equip could be good with okidogi, and cornerstone ogerpon. There are definitely some options for the fire fighting mixup.
Can you make a Darkrai or a Gengar deck???
🤔
Is this deck considered good? I'm new to the game
Honestly, it's not. It's a fun deck for casual gameplay but no where near competitive.
is this the most powerful version for infernape??
As of right now, this is the most useful at least
Kinda crazy that ptcg is so happy with non-ex stage 2s being trash for so many years apart from as bench warmers.. they need to get HP that justifies the evolutions because anything under a basic ex is not really worth evolving to and using as an attacker shrug
This current set definitely doesn't help but it's nice to see something tried with them. Look at rillaboom and alakazam, for example. Alakazam has potential for a sweep and rillaboom is probably the one pokemon that can get past cornerstone ogerpon in a festival deck. The other single prize stage 2s seem to have decent 1st attacks but their niche is already fulfilled by arguably better cards.
@@evanchismark3092 tbh I thought alakazam didn’t seem that usable (and can’t really be called an attacker, seems like it would only participate once a game while someone else would have to do all the work) and Rillaboom only exists because the Thwackey is great.
But again I don’t think it’s because they have bad attacks, it’s that they are all considered absolute child’s play to ohko by every deck above like.. tier 3 so they are never reliable when they have to go into the active slot consistently. No deck can do this with single prize stage 2s and I think it’s a design flaw
that fella don't even know what he is playing
coallasal needs fire energy and fighting
Yes, but from the discard pile.
Could you use Monkidori to remove damage off Infernape?
yes you can
