- In this video, we will explore the process of creating a stunning glitch text effect in Adobe Illustrator. First, we will cut the text apart using the pathfinder tool to create multiple pieces of the text. Then, we will transform these copies in various ways to create a fragmented and distorted glitched edge. To add to the glitch effect, we will add glitch colors to the copied text and layer on lines and color. Finally, we will use the rectangle tool to create the artifacts that give this text effect a deep and realistic glitch effect. By the end of this tutorial, you will have the skills to impress all of your friends with your own unique glitch text designs. It’s all completely vector, too!

The Timelaps summary at the beginning is just perfect, its all i need to recreate this effect but anyone who is new can just watch the rest of the video an get to the same result. Great idea man love it.
Glad you like it!
First time properly opening illustrator and followed this step by step, was really easy to follow and I'm super proud of my final result!
Nice tutorial. Another quick way to slice up text is to use the knife tool. You can hold alt or option and cut straight lines. Also another way to shift the sliced pieces randomly for the broken effect is to select all the pieces and go to object > transform > transform each. Then use a little bit of horizontal movement and check the random box. This will move them all randomly so you don’t have to do it by hand. If you don’t like what you get you can check and uncheck the random box a few times with preview on until you get something you like.
That's a good idea with the randomize via the Transform effect! Thanks for commenting!
Missing you man, Don't go back we glad that you back 🙏
Lots of new stuff planned and I’m making a bunch of new videos. Going to be an exciting year 😀
Others have said it before, but I ought to say that I'm a big fan of that timelapse summary at beginning of the video! Great job!
Thank you very much! I’m watching to see how well people like it so I’m glad to hear that you do. 🙌
These are universally useful design skills thanks 😊
Glad you like them!
Wow thanks Boss :)
The 1 minute tutorial is awesome!
Glad it was helpful!
Regular Tutvid, wow that's unbelievable ... tnx man
Soon it will be hard to believe I could have ever been so inconsistent for the past three years 😤😤😤😂
@@tutvid we love you man
Salut. Merci pour la ballade ! Bien.
Very nice
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing. Are you allowed to use this idea on things you sell please?
I'm following this exactly but I have a black background. When I create a line with the pen tool, it doesn't appear. I'm brand new to this and wondering if you have any idea whyz?
can someone list out the layer order I am having an issue with my white text getting the blur overlays to show on top of it despite it being the last layer. I have all the overlay colors showing on the cyan text and the magenta text but some reason with white base being on top it still does not have any effects showing over it. My order is Top to Bottom: blend, magenta blur, cyan blur overlay, cyan blur soft, magenta lines, white lines, white base text, cyan lines, cyan base, magenta base, background. the white base text has no effects showing and its solid white logo for that layer.

It's gotta be so irritating to you to have other guys run pre-roll ads for their bs courses for Adobe Photoshop and design right before you start your video. While giving you pennies, the real mission is to take the viewer away from your video to drive sales for themselves.
Doesn't bother me. I'll do my work and make my money. Maybe I'll sell my own courses soon 😂
