Right, this didn't happen in the show, but they did a similar thing with Roku in 1x8, The Winter Solstice, Part 2: Avatar Roku. It was when they visited the temple in the fire nation and Roku told them about the comet. Obviously, it was Roku in that, not Kyoshi.
I don't mind the changes in Sokka's story that much. I love a cute romance, I like that they liked each other basically at first sight and I'm excited to see more of them.
I agree! Sokka and Suki's relationship in the OG Kyoshi Warrior's episode was also kinda rushed, although that one only ended in a peck on the cheek - in general, it felt a bit more surface-level and they grew closer later on. but here they sort of bonded a bit more on being warriors, specifically non-bending warriors which I think is interesting because we don't really get into that with Sokka until season 3
kyoshi is one of the most loved avatar, more than Roku she is my fav too. I loved the change from Roku to Kyoshi, is my fav change cartoon-live action.
In the show, they just take Appa and fly away and then Zuko and the soldiers follow them. I actually love that in this version Kyoshi reappears in Aang to take care of her island. It makes sense!
idk this is random but "for 48 hours" sounds like CIA lingo to me. Took me a little out of it "You've got 48 hours, agent Smith" idk there's ways around that, that still convey her strictness in that moment. "until the sun sets on the second day" or something like that.

Kyoshi is 7ft tall (2,10m) and I'm so happy that they payed attention to that.
