  • Tom Roberts reviews the latest Vauxhall Movano large panel van - an affordable large that manages to feel more premium thanks to an all-new front end & updated cabin. This beast's platform is capable of carrying payloads of up to 2,148kg (depending on model chosen) although the critical 3.5t GVW payload is 1620kg (which is a lot). Check out the full review & let Tom know if you have anything to add or just want to ask a question!

    This is not a PSA van. This is a Renault van with a Vauxhall badge.

      Tom here: In the strictest sense of the word, now they're owned by PSA Group, all Vauxhall vans are PSA Group vans. They might not use the EMP shared platforms, but they are PSA Group vans.

    Have a question @Vanarama - is there any way to set up the dashboard panel to show remaining mileage? My van doesn't have the display panel, radio, nothing.

    Strange placement for a parking light in the rear, or could it just be 3rd brake light.

    Tbh I honestly wish I hadnt been such a brand snob over many years of running vans as ive always run Merc Sprinters.....never again, I've thrown in the towel on Sprinters, nothing but problem after problem, all my vans are dealer maintained too, Nox sensors, ad blue problem's, engine chain replacements, abs sensors, engine light after engine light, 500 mile countdowns, limp mode, this hasnt just been on one Sprinter, this has been on all my Sprinters and ive never run a sprinter past 75k before replacing, Mercedes just dont deserve the reputation they have, it was built on a couple of good engines years ago that were cable of a million miles. I dont know what these Vauxhalls are like but I'd choose one over a Sprinter all day long because I'd put money on it being more reliable

    Almost all Big modern vans are great. It seems to be a shame that they all hand the advantage to the Ducato/Boxer/Relay body shell in that it is 185cm plus internally... hence for Campers, beds can go across the back. Not a huge market maybe but a significant one all the same, given the European and US. Some other vans drive better but ..........

    • @vanaramauk
      @vanaramauk  Před 3 lety +1

      Tom here: I completely agree. But the Movano is trying to keep pace. Its platform is simply the best in terms of payload capability. But because it's from Vauxhall, people just won't see it as a first choice. Which is a shame, it's better than ever.

    I wish it wasn't as nippy and fast and instead a bit more fuel efficient. Burned half a tank on one work day, (ECO mode) certainly didn't expect that since I just started driving this van. Not good, not good. Certainly not now, when a liter of diesel is somewhere around £1 000 000..
