One aspect about Vincent K. McMahon, he wasn't boring, most brilliant people I have been around, have a lot of quirks, some of Mr. McMahon's did make sense, a lot of them did not though.

I worked at a radio station, driving to the station one day I'm listening to one of the worst quality of singers I have ever heard. They were gasping for breath every 2nd word and it was very noticeable. I went in to a boss who didn't want to listen to employees on anything and I pounded the table until we took that song out back and (well, you know).
The phrase is not a hill worth dying on, but quality is. I don't blame Brian on this one, it's totally Vince, but it didn't fix the problem. Instead of replacing one phrase with another come up with more, give people different language so it doesn't all blend together. If *anything* that's what a writer should do.
Just some off the top of my head: "I'm here to be number 1." "I'm not the most patient man but when the prize is worth it I'll do what I have to." "I hope you've enjoyed your run, because now your days are numbered."

That’s why I’m glad Vince McMahon is retired from WWE. Something like vernacular isn’t so heavily controlled. I thought the example Brian gave of championship opportunity was the perfect way it didn’t make logical sense to say. Most normal people would say title shot. And when you are trying to appeal to the fans, I’m guessing most want to hear those banned words. Because the words wrestling, belt, pro wrestler etc are words that anyone with a passion for pro wrestling would say. Don’t get me wrong using unique language sometimes can be a good thing for a unique character cutting a promo. But otherwise it’s just silly to be that controlling over asinine details that do not matter.

Well, from what I have heard about a lot of intelligent and or successful people, they are obsessive micro managers, I think that's where that comes from.

@@WSK9002 I have to disagree if you were that intelligent you wouldn’t be that much of a micro manager. Maybe if you had ocd or something.

Agree with you 100% Vince was a moron about a lot of his banned words. Not a hospital… a “local medical facility”
The one that got me was not a warehouse… but “an additional storage facility”. C’Mon man.
Wrestling fans are a unique bunch. The sludge of society at times, sadly. The contrarians safe haven, if you will. It is possible to state that you appreciate what Vince did for the business while also being critical of his work TODAY. And admit that he needed to go.

Boy do I wish WWE did use the phrase "a-fussin' an' a-feudin'.

Next thing you know these "rasslers" will be adjusting the waistband on their tights and slapping their shoulders just prior to color and elbow Tigh-ups. I guess it's back to the 1970s now. "sighs"

Nothing is more annoying than dealing with people who get hung up on verbiage and pronouns. Kind of like a certain miserable section of our society today.

Well obviously the use of “the words “opportunities” and “medical facilities” didn’t stop Vince from becoming a billionaire so he might very well could’ve been right.

McMahon became a billionaire in 99’, Gewirtz started writing a few years later. So this type of over scripting was happening well after Vince became super wealthy!

Causation Vs correlation. Billionaire status does not imply that every move/choice of his was correct. Absurd.

Glad Vince is gone! Good riddance! He accomplished greatness but he overstayed his welcome
