Why is it always like this...regular people that develop powers and a government(probably afraid of these people realizing their full potential or having ANY power to be able to fight said government) that is intent to label these powerful people as "outside society"? If governments were honest and just, they wouldn't need to fear the power of people, yet those that accrue power at the top(usually at the expense of many at the bottom) are so fearful of losing their "power" that they blind themselves, so they can accept their own made-up excuses as to why they "have to arrest/harass/torture/kill" these regular Joes and Janes that happen to have their own power too.
@@barbados3592 Doesn't have to be "superpowers" by definition, a genetic disorder that is highly lucrative if it can be recreated is fairly enough. Some ten years ago, at work my wife was introduced to an American woman with a daughter, who suffered from one of the rarest disorders there is. Basically, her telomerase activity stopped when she was three years old, which kept her in the physical and mental state of an actual three year old girl despite being in her 30's. Back then, nobody could tell if the natural cell deterioration every human experiences past the age of roughly 25 would ever kick in for her, which ment that she could've been potentially immortal in case no diseases or outside forces lead to her death. Now imagine we were able to recreate such a disorder at a certain point in the life of a human being. It means eternal youth. Obviously there were quiet a lot of people in the US who had hoped for a similar outcome, since that woman left for our country due to the offers they recieved sounding more and more like threats to her and she feared for their lives. It went that far that she even made the decision to kill her daughter once her own life is about to end, to spare her helpless child from being taken away and used as a lab rat. Meanwhile it turned out that her disorder hadn't been the key to immortality, since at some point her organs simply stopped working one by one in quick succession, which lead to her passing, but her case has shown that as someone with special traits you are very likely to become the target of certain groups with the goal of making profit with you, in whatever way there may be.
