I want to thank you SO MUCH!!!!!!! Holy Cow! I've been struggling to get my Silhouette Cameo 3 reconnected. It kept saying not found, error, and I had JUST used it the other day. I replaced the USB connection cord. I bought a Bluetooth adapter, EVERYTHING. I was about to fork out another 300 for a new Cameo, and I came up on this. I figured it was worth a shot. I followed it step-by-step...restart, and guess what?!?! EVERYTHING WORKING! Thank you again!

Happy that this vid is silent! but a TIP for anyone making this type of video - stop waving the mouse cursor around and swiping it back+forth across the item whose name you're obscuring before you shift to another screen leaving us having to freeze frame to try to see what you're pointing at. It doesn't help to wave the mouse around or use that stupid puffball effect on the cursor either. Keep it steady and pause whilst viewers take in what you're doing.

try switch the driver and then switch back to the good one
I have a red circle flashing next to my keyboard USB slot
try to uninstall it, click (action) scan for hardware changes........
in my pc under USB it shows unknown device with yellow triangle

GREAT - Your hint saved me from pulling my hair out over this intermittent issue of not being able to copy a few music files to my phone's SD card! Re-installing the (likely corrupted) driver for my Android phone "from the list of available drivers on my computer" worked! Thank you!

for 2 years now ive been scraping by with 1 dodgy usb port working, the computer guy told me theres nothing i can do, done your trick now ive got 2 out of 3 working, godsend!!!!
This worked. I lost my mouse, keyboard and all of my usb ports after installing a piece of 'safe' software. I used remote desktop to get into my computer so I could fix it (just a tip). Also, this is a good approach because it reinstalls your old drivers, the ones that work with your pc.

For me i followed what you said, but changed driver to (standard pci to usb host controller) then plugged in usb then it installed and worked.

YES it worked I thought the laptop was done but I thought it’s better to try to resolve this thank you for your solution!! After the windows 10 update my USB drives wouldn’t respond when I plugged something in now they work thanks to you
It's work on Windows 10.
I can't install driver's for USB Pendrive. (Access Denied)
Then i tried to delete a lot of USB Device from Device Manager.
Restarted the PC, and it works now.

If you've watched lots of these videos but still can't get you're USB Card Reader working I have one more suggestion.
I went to my motherboard manufacturer's website (ASUS for me) and downloaded the lastest chipset drivers for my model.
Bingo.
I finally got it working again.
It seems to be a Windows Update that caused the problem. Hopefully your manufacturer has an updated driver too.

Impossible to do without a PS2 port for mouse and keyboard! Today's computers have USB ports only. ! How about an addendum to fix that all USB computer ports.?.?..? I just ended up installing a new hard drive and put it in fresh copy of Windows 10. Now I'm transferring the few programs I had on my C drive back onto my computer.
