I recently got the Top Gun DLC. I got the DarkStar ready, and knew this was the mission I wanted to take it out on its first flight on. After the Supply Ships launch from the Mass Driver, I put my DarkStar to full speed, and was pretty soon right behind the first Supply Ship with a giant smile and saying 'Hey, buddy, you looked pretty lonely.'
That's not Long Caster. That's Jaeger doing the briefing. The briefing officer is NOT the AWACS officer, and vice versa (the AWACS officer is NOT the briefing officer).
Everyone mentions the cursor hovering over Megalith, but I love all the other little details on the map, like Los Canas where Tango Line was. If you zoom in a bit on the bottom right, you can see “Halle/Crowne/Caranda Beach”, the names of the beaches in Operation Bunker Shot. And if you really look in the top right near North Point, you can see Rigley Air Base, where Imminent Threat took place.

I saw a comment below that it had something to do with his speed, but I have not been able to duplicate that. Is there some aircraft part that speeds up identification? (I hate these ID missions, BTW)

@@william.i.herman Capture Tyler Island as a base of operations. It's the closest major base to the Space Elevator in Selatapura. They expected Osean forces to have taken the island or at least making good progress to taking the island, but the LRSSG found out they were already retreating.
If you're playing with keyboard - it should be G. You can always check in the options. Be careful not to waste the flares, though, you only have a few.
What load out on easy mode. I tried the f35 w\ the su47 berkut, easy mode engine uogrades needed. Ab,py,eup3x,missle speed homing tried?, stuck on easy difficulty. Flash drive also helped. 128 in front on xbone. Only four bombers + migs, ive been trying to keep my flares for protection. from. Migs guarding b-1lancers. desqised. as classic russian bombers they lied. B1 blast off.

Holding Y on the Xbox controller or triangle on a PlayStation controller locks the center of the camera to the target, making the process much easier.
The better you center the target, the faster it is.
Hate the missions where it’s identify the attack like this and all unknowns 😐

Try F14. The ultra long range missiles make the bombers and supply ships easy. I lost first time with the F35 and passed easily with the tomcat
