Beautiful work and great vid. I don’t care to save the baseboard during demo. I like the board and baton to BE the trim on the floor, so I break the baseboard. After cutting with razor and loosening baseboard slightly, I spin a screw part way into the baseboard and then pry up against a 4x4 block on the floor. Baseboard comes out, even if it’s grouted in behind tile.
Your Son was the best part :) Too Funny that guy! God Bless, thanks for your videos Brian!
Great job! Thank you for sharing!
Hermoso trabajo 😃😃😃
Good job!
Hey Brian, Glad you're making videos again. This project turned out great! Another tool you can use to get the baseboard off is a 4" (or so) putty/spackle knife. They are springy and thin and help get the baseboard away from the drywall without damaging the drywall. Looks like you did fine without it though.
Thanks! Yeah that sounds like it would work good, ill I'll have to try it out!
Very nice video
I understood the 1/3 rd method but I missed the measurements for battens. How did you determine the spacing for the battens? I really like this project. Thanks,
what dimensions did you cut all your boards.
딸이 이쁘고 귀여워요 잘보고 배우고있어요 저는 아들하나예요ㅋㅋ
I am curious if you did this above wainscoting without the shelf? We have a wall in a small dining area that needs help and thought this idea might improve the look of the wall...
What kind of paint sprayer do you have (assuming you'd recommend it)?
That was an wonderful video ! Thanks for sharing. Couple of questions as I'm planning to build the same now to my bedroom. You did not add any Primer coat before painting the MDF? Is that OK for longer run? Also, did you use semi gloss paint or regular Flat paint ?
nice job Boss! Why did you choose to go with the hardboard paneling option?
What were your cuts (measurements?)
6:38 Wood type 4x8 mdf 1/2 inch thick
Power outlets always have a standard measure, because nobody has ever thought of making a tool that at least marks it? Like a stamp with a retractable stick for the height.
How thick were the vertical strips of board?
Brian Where have you been? Enjoyed the video gave me some ideas. I wonder how this would turn out using dragon or epoxy reclaimed wood?
Shane I think that would look pretty cool! Yeah man I have been kicking myself for not posting, life just got to busy to keep up, but the wife gave me the okay to start making some videos again, so I'm super excited to get back at it!
Would you also update the description or share all the materials info please?
Can you do this for wall? Like maybe in a hallway?
Of course! Just be mindful if you add a shelf at the top that it doesn't protrude into the route too far.
Best tip to know is walls aren't perfectly squared in most homes so plan on extra cuts.
Home Depot and Lowes will no longer cut anything less than a foot and there are other restrictions. No more home project cuts. 😟
I think it depends on who you get to cut for lumber for you, there are employees that don't have a issue with more than two cuts.
Plastic gloves dipped in soapy water then smooth out the caulking
He did too much and made this so complicated and laborious with the extra steps when he should just measure, cut, install, caulk and paint....men!
