040 Mount Teide descent

In March 2024 to celebrate my 60th birthday and as my wonderful birthday gift my daughter arranged for us to descend Mt Teide in Tenerife from summit to sea level in a day. 3,718m to 0m. When planning this she had difficulty assessing the trek in advance. How long would it be? How difficult would it be? What was the terrain like? How hot? How cold at the top? Was it possible for a (relatively fit) 60 year old to manage it in a day? etc.
We did it and we loved it!
It was very hard work but I am so glad we achieved it!
