  • While we're working hard on unlocking the story within Nazjatar, I still wanted to cover some of the new story added with patch 8.2 'Rise of Azshara' That is why we're going to dive into the story of mechagon island. From its origin to its discovery and the heroes of the world showing up to help out... I hope you'll enjoy ^_^

    Gazlowe giving his workers paid vacation days for putting effort into their work? That's a damn good boss if you ask me.
    Edit: As well as paying full life insurance to the families of those who died under his watch? I would work for this guy.

      @@HouseOfAlastrian Gazlowe was once part of the Steamweedle Cartel which, while far from being paragons of virtue, are the most ethical of the known goblin factions.
      They're more ethical then Gallywix's Bilgewater Cartel and definitely more ethical then the Venture Company.
      So it may seem surprising to see him do such kind acts it's really not once you think about it.

    • @HouseOfAlastrian

      @@Gruntman1234 very good point there.
      It's always in a goblin's nature to be overly concerned with making money... but that in and of itself isn't necessarily evil... it's neutral.
      It's how one goes about making that money that determines whether it's good or bad, and the Steamwheedles are definitely on the more ethical side of the coin, which is why both Horde and Alliance can do business with them. I imagine Gazlowe and Gallywix very rarely see eye to eye on things though.

      For me the storytelling is ruining most of my interest in Nazjatar - for the Horde side it starts with a cutscene of an ocean chase with absolutely no build-up, explanation or context (aside from Nathanos being led by the blade to some form of rendezvous), then you're trapped in Nazjatar with everything looking bleak as hell, and you're informed Azshara could flood it again and kill the vital Horde/Alliance leadership at any moment.
      Oh, but not to worry - gilgoblin ex machina because "hey you're not naga, let's team up, we've got a base and everything", and the gilgoblins are both eloquent and compassionate which is completely going against everything we've known about them so far. Whatever, somehow we get a portal up despite teleportation being blocked, k great let's get out of here before we're flooded, BUT NO LET'S BRING IN MORE TROOPS TO THE SLAUGHTER - and tortollans show up just to do sight-seeing! SIGHT-SEEING! Why are we not immediately retreating out of this severely life-threatening TRAP and forming a plan to take on Azshara from a position of strength instead?
      So now we're just running around and killing naga, gathering resources for our new sea-dwelling friends, exploring, collecting treasure, reminiscing about past civilization, what danger, there's no danger here. Basically, the writers wanted us to get to Nazjatar and into the palace so their story could continue to unfold, but didn't care enough to set up a motivation to do so (or even write a short explanation as to why there's suddenly a sea chase with major characters involved to begin with). It's all going to be chalked up to "we were compelled to do so", i.e. "Old gods did it". Again.
      Wow, that went places. Sorry.

Azsuna, suramar(zone not city), and valsharrah would have been pretty open to colonization. The islands on the world map have to be scaled up so they can actually be of use to us players for navigation but if kul tiras was actually 1/3rd of the size of the entire eastern kingdoms then they would have been the major power house of the alliance not Lorderon and then Stormwind. As a horde player I thought Gazlowe really is a great goblin how he is displayed here.
    Seeing the Alliance side makes you think... Gazlowe actually shows more respect for his workers than the Tinkmaster. I mean, its obvious that Gallywix is a much more greedy character, but Overspak is... well just a selfish prick.
    I'd take Gazlowe over him any time of the day, at least it seems he is true to his word. That he seems to be a rather nice goblin was also seen in the short questline in Tanaris a few weeks ago.

    • @Rakshiir
      @Rakshiir Před 5 lety +1

      @@MrGoesBoom I would say that the Gnomes, and the Alliance as a whole do have a bit of a racism problem anyway.
      If you look at the situation: the first thing the Gnome does is call Gazlowe a simpleton that could never understand the tech. Wasn't the most mean spirited thing, but still... its not the first and surely not the last time that the alliance goes in insult first.
      I mean, not that the horde are virtues or anything, oh no... but its not like the alliance didn't kill goblins who where just mining Azerite in Silithus either... it's kind of a grey area whats okay at times. The purge of Dalaran is also a hard subject. To what point was that ok, did it, or where did it start to not be ok?
      Not to say everything is fair game, but let's be honest: killing anything from the other faction is accepted on both sides, pretty much. It "just" depends how. Besides, currently the factions are at war. So attacking is rather normal, I'd say.
      Remember Varian at the end of pandaria, he never asked to not kill alliance soldiers. He just wanted from Vol'jin to uphold honor.

    • @aureliodeprimus8018
      @aureliodeprimus8018 Před 5 lety +2

      As far as i can recall, he is a member of the Steamwheddle Cartel. In WC3 TFT Gazlowe was first introduced as a quest giver, hired by Thrall to build Orgrimmar with Rexxar helping him. With this fortune he later build Ratchet and set it up as a neutral port, while still remaining contact with the Horde. During WoD, Thrall hired him again to oversee the Garrison construction. It is never really explained, but i think at this point, Gazlowe realised, that while remaining neutral does not limit him to one client, the Horde is still his best bet. I think he is still neutral, but is more leaning towards the Horde. There is a follower mission, where the Horde uses Ratchet to transport supplies/ the Alliance tries to sabotage it, but if i recall correct Ratchet is expliciatly stated to be neutral.

    I still don't get why the titans chose gnomes to keep their huge machines running. Those tiny creatures can't reach any titan structure part on their own, i mean any titan cogwheel is 10 times the size of any gnome. makes no sense imo

    • @RileyRivalle2
      @RileyRivalle2 Před 5 lety +2

      I think they were actually made by the keepers after the titans left, specifically to care for and invent small and intricate machinery. Also, they may have reduced in size somewhat as a result of the curse of flesh.

    • @aureliodeprimus8018
      @aureliodeprimus8018 Před 5 lety +2

      The funny thing about titan machinery is, that the consoles themselves seem tiny in comparison to the whole mechanism. Also one of the biggest problems in machinery is that bigger cogs tend to be much slower, than tiny cogs. Basically to run a fast and efficient machine, you need smaller components. Another thing is that you have a much harder time doing essential repairs and maintenance things, if you are big-handed, since your honing skills are hampered by it. Basically gnomes are essential to keep the fine, intricate parts of the machinery running, while the giants and earthen can maintain the bigger parts.
