Havoc is a piece that’s bold, cinematic, and furious. The composition reflects explosions, quick changes, destruction, and adventure. I wanted to compose something that was a true representation of all of those qualities. At Troy University, the word Havoc means a lot to the students, especially the students in the School of Music. Havoc is a composition that was made with the conductor in mind. This work was written in 2024 for a phenomenal conductor, educator, and friend, De’Shun Iverson.
I had the fortune of working for De’Shun as one of his music librarians. He quickly became one of the greatest GA’s that Troy ever saw and I learned a lot from him. Thank you De’Shun for sharing your knowledge with me and the rest of the students at Troy. Wishing you the best as you continue on to your next musical adventure.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

If you don’t mind me asking, what notation software do you use to compose?

Hi there! I use finale notation software. I also use the noteperformer sound library. These two together create a wonderful work environment for me and have made my composition journey significantly more efficient.
