i think that outside of reddit most people i've talked to actually didn't mind the msq as much as is being echoed around. the normal/ex content is better than EW, so we got much to look forward to i think.
Didnt find the story thaaat interesting this time around, but they nailed the fights IMHO, progging the Extreme Trials has been fun (but havent seen no mount drop yet sadly)
The story felt like wasted potential to me. There was a lot of good set up for interesting plot points and character moments that never happened. I'm disappointed, but I still enjoyed it and it looks like the story will be heading in an interesting direction now. Gameplay was great. Far more engaging than Endwalker imo. While there are a few issues in a couple dungeons, it forced me to actually respect mechanics while still being approachable for casual players. The final trial is probably the best final trial we've ever had. EX trials were great too. Picto is one of the best job design they've ever done. TLDR : Dawntrail's launch patch is far from flawless but very promising.
I dont care how good a story is, if you have to watch 30 min cutscenes and you'r next mission is to go to point B and watch another 30 minute cutscenes then its bad design, Yoshi really need to shake off the formula, we want to play the game not watch a Mini series
As a content creator for this game though, I feel like you have to walk on eggshells with how much you criticize this game right, so its difficult to take the insight as non-biased. We are talking about an expansion where Tural's farmers forgot how their own crops grow and you had to re-teach them why they do their traditional celebrations held for centuries? Like who the hell came up with that? It's like a Chinese coming to America to teach them why we hold elections because we forgot what makes our country work.
They didn't forget? they had no idea the ritual had anything to do with their crops the only reason it failed this time was cuz they had no time for celebrations amidst the storm that ransacked em.
@@jackjohnson8305 They 100% forgot, I think you need to replay that again. It was the whole reason they started doing it in the first place. The boat was even imbued with magic feathers and jewels in the eyes for that specific purpose, it wasn't random coincidence. They invented the whole damn thing, this is their tradition, their festival, it didn't get handed down to them...
What's worse about that Plot Line, the guy in charge of the Ritual Boat literally tells you from the start "yeah that's how it always worked, Ather and all" but apparently he did not deem it relevant to tell the Hanuhanu while the were starving

I wanna play more jobs but getting them to 100 takes ten thousand years cause dungeon queues take forever :(
You could use trusts if you want to spam dungeons. I just got my first 3 to 100 and the avg dungeon run is somewhere around 22-24 mins.
My situation is the opposite of most ppl. Im enjoying the hell out of this expansion and I found Endwalker boring.
How? literally the same content on launch for both expansions. EX1 and 2 to prepare for savage is the current endgame just like launch EW.

my opinion on dawntrail so far:
story really bad
new content very good
new environments also really good except for zone 4 and 5
