Buying Wholesale Liquidations and Returns by the Truckload - How It Works and What It REALLY Costs!

  • Have you ever wondered what it really costs to buy a pallet of returns, overstocks or liquidations? In this video, I bought almost an entire truckload of customer returned items from a major retailer so you didn't have to!
    View the manifest here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
    In this video, you'll learn what the wholesale cost of customer return pallets is in some situations, what is included on a wholesale pallet, how much money you can make from wholesale liquidation truckloads, and quite a bit more.
    Major items that are in the video are wholesale air conditioners, wholesale refrigerators, wholesale microwaves, and wholesale arctic air fans, among other items.

      I always hate videos where people buy pallets or truckloads and make it look like they're either getting the world's most amazing deal ever, or lie about the paperwork and what it really costs. I figured the paperwork would entice people to understand what the business really looks like - good or bad.

    You should check the manual on the mini-fridges. Sometimes the fact that they're shipped tilted settles the gas in weird ways. You need to give it 24 hours to settle upright before turning on, or you can damage the unit.

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  Před 3 lety +6

      I always give them a day or two.. doesnt cost me to wait. On the bad fridges, its either a damaged shelf, bad power cord, the compressor relay is bad or.... when I have to write it off.. a sealed system issue.

    You deserve every penny of profit you make. People think it's easy, but you obviously have overhead, pay employees and the associated expenses of that. Not easy handling all these appliances. I can imagine testing uses a lot of electricity as well, and you have all these bills to pay. Great video and helping others to get into the business as well.

      Glad you enjoyed it! Its not for everyone, and its not something that I am switching my business to, but its a very good add-on. My dream would be to be able to do this + furniture/outdoor (which is incredibly good stuff, too), then mesh it with new scratch and dent/returned appliances, then mattresses too. Its an odd-ball kind of furniture/ect store idea, but given how expensive it is to ship stuff, it could be a good moneymaker.

    Ben, great video. I've been looking at wholesale liquidations for a long time now, and have heard several things while deciding - You did a great job of describing 1-type of an appliance load, but I'd like to know if you ever bought an Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, or Wayfair load? And if so, what did you think?

    If you're having trouble moving the arctic airs, you should set one up in a part of the store customers walk by. Add the water and ICE to it (coldest air) and add some mint oil/scent/freshener (or peppermint/menthol/etc). Put it around head/neck height. The cold air will hit them on their exposed skin, which will feel much cooler, and the mint oil will make them think the air is even colder. I'd set up two, one at around female head/neck height, and one at male head/neck height. Keep it out of reach of kids so they don't spill the water/ice.
    In winter, you can leave out the ice and water, put some scented oils in there, and market it as the ultimate glade plugin, lol. Attach some funny anecdote to it, like your wife makes you turn that on when you go to the bathroom, clears the scent in seconds, or w/e.
    They also seem to sell decently on eBay.

    • @bbg5000
      @bbg5000 Před 3 lety

      If you sell them on eBay, make sure you do two listings, one with the correct spelling "arCtic air" and one with the incorrect spelling of "artic air". Both seem to sell, lots of people misspelling it. Also, if you can't seem so move them at all, sell just the air filter (if it's unused/clean) on eBay.

Now then you said I think you made around under 8k back but then you posted everything up but I’ll try to go back and add that up but shouldn’t you be able to make on a 1200k load at least shouldn’t you make at least 20k back ? Then is taxes involved are you stuck with a lot of headaches to pay after !? How would you mark this up please ! This is a very good honest unlike a lot of channels I’ve seen ty so much ! I am in another area idk if it’s the same but anyways is there a market do ya just make it or is there at least enough to besides buying more and paying for costs and taxes is it really can you set back anything ?! I am in a place where I have to do something my relative lost the limbs and so basicly I’m in a position I have to find a way to live and try to stack back some $ for when I’m older ! Idk I’m really thinking of doing this but idk if I wanna buy the appliances cause idk maybe we could fix some idk but I don’t trust what everyone out here says ya know ! It is a big risk it seems cause you can’t see everything ! I wonder if there is any $ in resale on each crate itself ! Hopefully I’ll figure something out ! I have several liquidators within 45 minutes of me, one of them is 5 minutes away. I've tried pallets before and I like washers & dryers so much better. Way easier for me personally and I make so much profit without any stress at all. I've known one of the couples on Extreme Unboxing for about a decade and another couple for about a year. I watched only a couple of episodes and was not interested any longer because that is not how they act in real life..... HOLLYWOOD! Right now, not only would I not give a discount for body damage on a freezer, I would jack the price up a little more. Supply & demand. I have a place over in Dallas that I can get a/c's at will. I never buy a/c's but my friend does. I could see me opening a store with stuff like this in the future if washers & dryers ever dry up.
    LOTS of work for only $6k profit so new people BEWARE. Ben was honest, some others aren't. Plus, you can't just jump in and buy.... you will need a plan! Good luck!

      I'd make sure to have at least money for one truckload. The more money you have, the better. So minimum $4,000, but the more, the bigger the truckload.
      Space-wise, a truck is 12ft wide by 52ft long, so around 650 sq. ft. is what you'll need, minimum, to store. Then you'll need showroom space. I'd say 1200sf minimum.

  • @vilmantasmarcinkevicius4064

I'm pretty good at marketing the stuff, but there's just so much volume - what's the best way to sell 200 Arctic Air units when you have a decent clientelle, but its only 10-20 units a week? I have from time to time. I've done decent on it, but for me its hard to just "Sell the pallets" when I really want to break them down and sell the appliances, since that's my business primarily.
      Having said that, I *am* going to start selling the truckloads of pallets soon if anyone wants them.

    Karens are the backbone of America's economy. They keep lawyers, judges, human resource department employees and the police employed. In this case, truck drivers and small businessmen in the pallet liquidation business. Lol

      You take them as they come. They are basically scrap to the original seller. They don't care. Just have to set them upright and let them sit for a day or two so the oil drains back to where it's supposed to be.
