I'm a car guy, Nissan/Infiniti is my go-to and Porsche is my dream brand. But move over JDM and German GOAT, we got a new/old contender!!! Wow I slept on this cool little German BEAST! I gotta get this car! Just gotta convince the wife to switch from the "Rising-Sun" brand, lol. Thinking GLE regular back for her. Good commentary man, you sold me!
Mercedes still sells the GLA 45, but starting in 2020 model year it had a major refresh that made it heavier and more SUV-looking. 2019 was the last year the GLA 45 could be called a "hot hatch" rather than a fast compact SUV.
My friend bought an E63 AMG bi turbo. Timing chain broke inside the engine. The cost to replace the engine was more than the cost of the car. Extended warranty won't touch it. I'd love one of these but when that dct transmission fails it's going to be a sad day.
anyone in the merc/bmw game never drives anything older then 3 years. if this happen to 63 under warranty they, will often just give you a new car depending on your history.
@@dwnshft nice.. I did it three years ago.. I also did the amg dealer in Germany.. Got to see the engines being hand made in affalterbach.. Driving amgs on the autobahn. I left Germany late to drive across it and do a track day on the nurburgring with rsr.. Was awesome.
Nope, this isn't even close to the "highest power output per litre of any engine that's ever been produced". Go back 30 years. Oldsmobile Aerotech. 2.3 litres, 4-cylinder, petrol-powered, 1000bhp, and 275mph.
Several mistakes here, not the most powerful engine per liter ever created. The most powerful is the Evo engine. This is the most powerful OEM tho. It is not a quad exhaust. It is a dual exhaust with a fake quaf tip: my biggest problem with the car. I own one so I know.
Add for the "highest power output per litre of any engine that's ever been produced". Go back 30 years. Oldsmobile Aerotech. 2.3 litres, 4-cylinder, petrol-powered, 1000bhp, and 275mph. Quite an achievement.
45 series AMG is NOT hand built AMG engine. This badge simply replaces the 550 series on all Mercedes cars. It’s misleading for Mercedes to rebadge its cars this way because it allows 3rd party promoters to misrepresent that a robot built engine is assembled by an expert craftsman, like the rest of the AMG line. My salespeople at 2 Mercedes dealerships accurately explained that it was an ordinary, factory assembled engine, not from AMG hand assembly line, but I got the status badging.
Bullshit. It is one man one engine hand assembled. You know nothing young man. The 43 and 53 are factory made, the 45 , 63 and 65 are one man one engine hand assembled

I do miss mine sometimes . it was a little beast . a bit wide for carving b roads but otherwise great
The last year of a well-rounded GLA45AMG. '20+ will have 400lbs more and only 6hp more? Yeah, I'll keep my '16 and '19.

Mine doesn’t have the button for the adaptive exhaust. Does it still have it? Maybe just buried in a menu somewhere?
Great review. My wife and I are enjoying her 17 gla45. My only gripe is the ridiculous amount of steps it takes for launch control 👎

That’s quite normal for many sports cars and also it’s not something one would do every time you take the car for a drive

The AMG menu you mention at 8.22 how is this activated? Or does it need to be retrofitted or encoded in?
The only problem I have is it's small , if it was like just a bit bigger.

Why wouldn't the extended warrantee touch it? That sounds like exactly what an extended warrantee is for.
the 1st gen gla45 won 3 time best 2.0L inline 4cylinder of the year. overall very reliable trust me i own one for 3 years now...what a car !!
