Slow storms arent dangerous because of the wind. They are dangerous because of the flooding. They dump lots of rain in one place rather than spread out. I'm in S Florida and we all know a slow moving Cat 3 is far worse than a quick Cat 5.

I've yet to hear anywhere in anyone's narrative that what do you do if you don't have the ability to evacuate if you're too old too frail too poor to not have any transportation how to use vacu 8 and if not how do you notify the officials that you are unable to evacuate can somebody please address that question
The poor abandoned pets :{ Can't the National Guard spare a few dog-loving soldiers to handle sheltering these fur babies? You never see those 2 1/2 ton trucks rolled over or destroyed. Maybe a bunch of crate in some of those?
In the hood they just evacuate and leave dogs tied to trees. in the hood in S Florida we rescued 125 dogs left by diverse people when they took off. The workers were still getting dogs when the storm hit. And then they just go out and adopt new puppies after, leaving their dogs to be put to sleep. SMH But we arent supposed to mention those things.

They may electrocute you. -Make sure to have durable shoes with you for walking around after the storm. -I recommend filling up your bathtub with water, as a last resort, should your drinking water not work out. -Know where your medications are/keep them on your person. -Stay in the inner most room at the lowest point of your house. -Even if your windows are boarded, place mattresses against your windows for extra protection. -Keep in touch as best you can with your neighbors. Have a plan to check on people after the storm. -Have pet food available for your pet. -Do not swim in water if you don't have to. -Turn off your gas to prevent fires from high winds or debris.

There are a lot of elderly and poor families who did not have the money to evacuate their homes. I was extremely disappointed with her “evacuation plan” because it wasn’t a plan at all. It was a post-storm plan. I am just grateful that the storm wasn’t as bad as it could have been, because it would have been cleaning up the bodies of underprivileged people. “Shelter in place” does not save the lives of the most vulnerable citizens. There have always been evacuation buses and shuttles to facilitate those types of citizens. This is the day I lost all respect for the mayor.
Due to today's serious events, including the Covid-19 pandemic, many companies and employment have gone bankrupt or lost their jobs. So, many people lost their livelihood. This previously difficult situation is being exacerbated by disasters in various parts of the world. So man faces many problems that make others lose hope. (from the Philippines)
