    I always remember when Dublin won this game online discussion boards were littered with comments saying that this was a flash in the pan and a fluke. The same people now say Dublin success is inevitable. Incredible that Cluxton along with McMahon, McCarthy, McCauley, O Sullivan, Connolly, Fitzsimons and probably a few others I missed are still around now nearly a decade later! This win created an incredible culture. The era of the super dubs

    "15 points in his career so far..." And the 16th was the best, most important and will go down in history. 11-D-SAM

    Read recently that Tomas O'Se gave the ball to Stephen Cluxton after the game. That is the sign of a true man, quality.

    What was the story with the stoppage time? Why was nothing played? Surely more than 30 seconds injury time. Ref Kerry sold short a bit here

  • @dublinvids
    @dublinvids Před 11 lety

    Same here (altho from Dublin) but remember not even watching the kick, instead looking at the Hill waiting for a reaction. Only things that kills me! Had a ticket for the game but was playing a gig the 2 nights before in Kerry of all places so didnt get back on time. Got back to the city to watch it at least so doesnt bother me too much. :)

    For a team that has the pick of players that Dublin have they really should win the All Ireland more often then every 15 years or so.

    Great game it was one thing watching it live but another thing watching it again after you have already seen it before. Sport a game of fine margins element of chance and fine tuning from players from all counties to reduce randomness. Little did many of us watching at the time not realize that this would lead to future 5 in a row. For players it must be strange kind of good moments in time passage of victory to defeat & defeat to victory back & forth. Dublin did threaten in noughties but were eclipsed along with Kerry by Armagh & Tyrone who frustrated them both. But watching it live always beats watching it not live but either way you cannot complain. You can never be sure how a game will be won until after it has been won. Sport to honour mock Mars aka Ares God of War in greek myths not in a disrespectful way but then you cannot forget Athena either. Discipline fitness sharpness of skills that's why in the end you must submit respect to athletes regardless!

    @Corkman12 Well said, this is the first time a Tipp man has ever agreed with a Cork man. 31 teams my hole, sure we all know Kilkenny cant field a "proper" team. So thats one less!!! Im just messing. Im so sorry, its an awful thing to say, considering I know someone in Kilkenny highly involved in the county board and he says that they get as much as the hurlers. I couldnt resist saying it though XD

    @john gatsby.
    What's ur point johnny boy you clown.. if gooch did I'm sure there was plenty added time at the end of the first half to make up for it.. how can there be 2 minutes of added time at the end of a game for it to b taken up with a goalie coming up to take a free.. obviously cluxton is going to take his time who wouldn't but the ref shud b playing another 30 seconds at least
