    The weather in Japan cooperated for Casey Stoner and Honda Racing on the second day of testing at Twin Ring Motegi. The Australian only managed six laps on during the first scheduled day at the track before rains put a halt to proceedings. Day 2, however, saw the two-time MotoGP champion finish 47 laps, during which time he was able to cycle through the all the planned tasks HRC had scheduled.
    The morning saw Stoner work through a few items on the current 2013 RC213V machine while the afternoon's work focused on development of the 2014 prototype. Stoner insists his testing return will not include rumored wild card entries during the 2013 season.
    Casey Stoner:
    "Thankfully today the weather improved a lot, in fact it was pretty hot, and we were able to get some good track time and work on our test program. We had a productive day in general and thankfully the test plan wasn't too hectic, so we were able to get most of it done today, after yesterday's washout. It was great to see the team, even if there were only a few people here, and I thank Honda for all their support as ever. It felt really good to get back on the bike after 9 months and I'm happy with how the test went, but it doesn't change my mind about the wild cards - this is not something I am planning to do."

    I still miss this guy on a bike. Casey could ride around problems that may people even today can't do hence why nobody has won a title on the Ducati.

    The question is why Honda did not continue the development of their RC211V V5 engine. That would be something for the potential street machine, something different from the others indeed!

    • @MrSlurry
      @MrSlurry Před 10 lety +3

      They had to stop with the V5 as MOTOGP rules state a maximum of 4 cylinders, this rule was put in place in 2012. Kind of sucks

    • @BBGBITW
      @BBGBITW Před 10 lety +1

      MrSlurry Yes, it more than sucks. It is actually stupid, since with those kind of rules they are limiting the technical potential quite seriously.

    Stoner to develop the production racer? Stoner has a history of approaching bike set up differently than everyone else. After developing the Ducati no one else could ride it. Actually toward the end he couldn't ride it either (and since that seems to have continued maybe not his fault). My point is do you want a really unique rider developing the bike for the masses?

    Everyone in the team is super excited, I've seen 1:14 on the sat and this I'm guessing is the sunday and could have a time of 1:24 on lap 4 I'm not sure what the std lap times are are for the twin ring but I'm thinking these are super good times the asian guys are smiling like little girls.
    Even his old team manager is pretty suprised at the times they must be a lot better than the team riders have done, and the old asian guy on the right is the honda team boss.

    nah, he wouldn't... he is a great rider, but a bit nervous when it comes to close encounters. He's like a Fenix imho, he can rise from the dust every time he falls, but he needs some external stimulation to get back to the top. He's not that constant from season to season and that's a fact. Nevertheless he is still a great rider and unfurtanetelly he retired too soon :(

    Bros, stoner is wicked for sure but Lorenzo will not take 2014 lying down. Even if Stoner did get a wildcard or comes back, I just don't see it happening. Marquez is going to be a b!tch to deal with and thats my boy haha. Someone told me Rossi was still getting used to being back on the Yamaha again so I can't say what will happen in 2014. Maybe 4th maybe 3rd... In related news Haga got a wildcard in SBK last season round 7 Imola and he was testing the BMW i believe. He took 15th in that race!! And Haga is a fcking beast!

    Marquez would kick Stoner's ass all up and down the track, just like he did to most everyone else this past season. Stoner gave up on Rossi at LeMans in 2012 towards the end of the race, it was clear he settled for 2nd place. He was done. He probably is better off behind the scenes.

Am not the be all end all but no armchair coach, son, so go play with your Hot Wheels. Oh, and it's opinion, not advice...lol. Learn the difference. Will be in COTA again in April to watch him win again.

    • @adgennings
      @adgennings Před 10 lety

      And these guys would pass you like you were standing still I'm afraid. Whether it be advice or opinion it's irrelevant and makes you seem pretty immature. Also did you call me son and then go on to say "lol"?

    • @overcusser
      @overcusser Před 10 lety

      Afraid - what are you afraid of? It's OK, there's nothing to be afraid of, I don't bite. Unless you want me to, and I don't swing that way - sorry to disappoint. And no, they wouldn't pass me like I was standing still, they would pass me like I'm trying to keep up them. Pass...you're not making a pass at me, are you? You're using terms like afraid and pass - perhaps this is online code talk to picking up guys are you're afraid to come right out and make an obvious pass at me? What a tricky way to pick up men. I'll have to be aware of guys like you. But my comment is relevant, as both riders ride similarly - both turning down the TC to steer/slide the bike with the wheelspin, steering the bike at the exit with the rear tire. Which is how bikes in Moto2 are being ridden. This is like Roberts, Schwantz & some other oldies. But I'm sure you know all of this, right? Marquez seems better at it and he's 20. Wouldn't be surprised to see Pol Espargo get several wins this year. Touche on your original assumption that I'm an armchair coach, as my response to it was seemed immature, just like armchair - so I made an assumption as well that seemed to be correct. I'm actually a foot chair coach (or maybe foot rest), as I coach better in my recliner with the foot rest popped up. I'm more comfortable that way. I will say that I am unsure about your question, if I called you "son" and said "lol". Actually, I could couldn't call you as I don't have your phone number. And I can't say "lol" as you wouldn't hear me. Hold on...I just said "lol", but I don't think you heard it. Did you? Judging from the precise placement of the characters in question (known as letters), I would say that the answer to your question is yes, with the stipulation that I typed both words. I call my son "son" sometimes because he's my "son", and he can be immature as he's younger than me - possible case in point here. But I see that you don't have the same name as my son - I hope me mentioning this is not irrelevant. But that's my opinion and answer to your question - both of which are probably irrelevant since my original comment was irrelevant. What is relevant is suggesting a Speak N Spell to answer your question.
