- Hi friends! I'm finally going to fill up these thrifted frames with my paintings! I've been procrastinating way too long on this project but this is the beginning of it! I go through the process of one of the paintings I will be adding to this gallery. I decided to paint my husband playing his guitar which is something he spends most of his time doing and I'm so glad I was able to capture him in his element and eternalize the moment through this painting. Looks like you did a really good job of capturing both Hubby's likeness, the mood, and the feel of the music-making moment, all of which are pretty impressive individually, but all the more impressive together in one painting!!

Wow, Ana, the love and care you have given this portrait is really, really your best painting to date. One can see from this beautiful artwork of your hubbyy, playing the guitar while you paint, that you have finally mastered the portrait. Great work. Fabulously done. I hope he likes it just as much. It is wonderful to see your feathered friends too, they look so happy together, having the freedom to exercise at the same time. Was that a cat in the video? How does he or she cope when the birds are out in the room?
Anyway Ana, congratulations on your finest achievement, now you can take real pride in this.
By the way I to have problems sometimes with trying to fit Some paintings into frames that are supposed to be an exact size in inches, but I often find that some frames nowadays, are made with metric sizes, and one will note that they always seem to be five millimeters too short as a result. Therefore I always carry a tape measure with me to measure the aperture or rebates at the back of the frames, to ensure that the frames I now buy are suitably sized for my paintings. I have also learned to make my own when shop brought frames are not suitable for my needs. This might be something else you can turn your hand to?

Hey Ana, I absolutely loved the way how the painting came out. I'm sure hubby's reaction seeing it was priceless.
The cockatiels are adorable. It was only just two years ago I came to learn of them when I was looking up birds to paint in watercolour. They are from the parrot family or should I say a type of parrot, if I'm not mistaken?
By the way, I got the gamblin set, one windsor and newton and a sennelier oil paint. Thanks again for responding to me on your last video.

Yes, cockatiels are in the parrots family! Male cockatiels can mimic sound patterns and talk. Female cockatiels on the other hand are more sassy & loud hehe
