Candidate over reliance on polling numbers is problematic. They are NOT, let me repeat that, they are NOT statistically significant nor are they correlated to actual voting trends/patterns. For professionals whose entire careers revolve around advising candidates on political strategy I find it utterly perplexing how ignorant they are about polling. I am a statistician, I have my masters degree in statistics. I can tell you, without 1 iota of apprehension, to ignore polling numbers.
