  • $20,000 price difference between the two. Is the C7 Z06 worth it?!

I have a 7spd C7Z. Original owner. I wouldn’t sell it for anything. Call me crazy, but I modded it and have a little over 900whp. 😮😮. It feels like I escaped death every time I finish driving the car.

    I love both my C7 Z06 and C8 Z06, but I fear I can only keep one.

  • @danlaur7973

The Z06, better to have it & not need it than to need it & not have it

  • @Ls_corvette

Bro passed by a c1 and didn’t even know that it was a corvette 😂

18 manual z06 owner here: its hands down the most fun car I’ve owned. It’s my third corvette and will keep this Z forever. Had a c6 z51 and c7 z51 prior but they don’t hold a candle to the Z06. Done light mods to it like headers, x pipe, intake, ported TB, and tune. Sitting at 600whp on 91. Doing flex fuel and AFM delete next then will be done modding. Paid $57k to get mine at 46k miles. Well worth it.

Bro, you are wayy off on your mustang gt info. They make MORE power, not less, and they DO come with manual trans.

6 speed AT gives you plenty in 2nd gear

I've owned quite a few Corvettes in my life. My favorite was a 69 427 roadster that I ordered and bought new. It was my daily driver and I raced it in SCCA A Production as well. Last December, I bought a 2015 C7 Z51 with magnetic ride control. It had all the important (to me) options, set up for superior handling and braking. I did go with the 8 speed auto as I lost my left leg several years ago and can't reliably operate a clutch anymore, but I have found the automatic to be very controllable, unlike older automatics. I considered a Z06, but the extra power was not worth the additional expense to me, especially for purely street use. I don't plan on racing any more, and the 460 HP and 465 fr-lbs of torque this car hasis more than enough to put a smile on your face. Plus, it gets great mileage, typically ove 30 mpg on the highway, and around 25 city (as long as you don't get too enamored of the go fast pedal). Acceleration is still well into the thrilling category, and when a passing situation arises on the highway, you will go from 70 to 100+ in the blink of an eye. It takes corners in an amazing fashion, and stopping power is mind boggling. Mine has the 3LT trim level and, yes, the desert heat has caused a few "bubbles" in the dash top leather just behind the windshield, but I have found that to be easily repaired using a syringe, adhesive and sandbags for weigth while drying. There are several issues common to the C7 to watch out for. The big ones ar related to the transmission and torque tube. I bought mine from a Chevrolet dealership and it was "certified" by Carbravo (a relatively new GM program) with a 6 month bumper to bumper waranty. I also purchased a 2 year extended Carbravo extended warranty which begins after the initial 6 month warranty. In the first few months of ownership, many of those problems arose, and all were taken care of under warranty (torque tube, flex plate, transmision triple flush, front MRC shocks, and several small items). Since then, it has been dead nuts reliable and a joy to drive.

Thanks for getting two manuals for your test.

  • @speedfiend925

After hearing both back to back I am surprised how much alike both sound but both do have a DI 6.2 V8 so basically it comes down to how much you want in power and are willing to spend. I think I would be happy with either but the Z06 just sounds like a C7 turned up to 11. 😁

  • @SocialOrbit

Can’t wait to get mine 🤤

Zo6 does everything better. Drove both and stringray had z51 package on it as well

  • @speedfiend925

That looked like a latter year C1 right before they switched to the C2 in 63. 😁

  • @HarryB_6.0

I’m going to save for a C8 and boost it. If I can do this, I’ll bring it too you!

  • @j.scotto8803

    C7ZO6💪💪

  • @chrisb_71

Hold it....there's a "holding place" for the key fob in the Z06?? Lol.....never noticed that before.
