"Once I have the Coleslaw it is time to stuff this pumpkin" is not a sentence one hears often in sewing videos xD
Just taken out of context it is superb
😆😅🤣😂
Thank you... I needed that.
That pumpkin butt could inspire so many puns... and it's also adorable.
Love the color of the skirt too.
Sweet Bran, obviously approves the fabric. that skirt on that petticoat got this saved forever in my Donner and Co save list for making stuff that we don't have extant garments and will help me make that 12th century thing i have been working on starting for six months now. Absolutely gonna save my brain and use that and the double twill tape idea lots of times ( like whenever I want which will be always). that 12th century thing is about one sixth done, so maybe by my birthday- aka Co Sy week- it will be created.
Loving the kitten shaped pattern weight!
He’s so helpful. So. Helpful.
Watching you cut up all that cabbage was so satisfying omg. And then taking your cabbage patch and stuffing it into your pumpkin bum pad made me so happy!! There's some sort of farming joke in there I'm sure.
These were such great makes. Maybe next year I'll participate!!
When I was a child I thought the adult drink was coffee, when I was a teenager I thought the adult drink was alcohol. As an adult, it turns out the adult drink is water. Stay hydrated folks. 😆😭🥤
It's 06:22 on May Day Bank holiday, settling in to watch with a glass of water, wishing I could be drinking a root bear, it's not that easy to get here in the UK.
I smooth read that as "watch a glass of water" at first, and then was like "wait wut" 😂😂
You make pinning things looks so easy.... I usually have cussing and possibly blood when I try to pin.
That mermaid fabric was awful to pin; the metallic coating didn’t easily pierce.
Mood. I've gotten to where if I don't absolutely *neeeed* to pin something, I won't. I mean, sure. Blood for the Blood God and all. But the stabbings make me cranky.
@@DanielleStJohn I can and will chant "blood for the Blood God" during my crafting now thank you
Such an adorable pumpkin! I'm currently sipping hot cocoa made with almond milk
Black cat and red linen, my favourite colour scheme ...
Such an amazing set of underpinnings!
Tea: bagged Twinings Earl Grey (from the hotel coffee station). I randomly noticed the clear door on your sewing machine that (I assume) lets you see the bobbin! Such a nice feature
Loved the moment where you drawed around Bran. And there were many things I thought was so brilliant, like the pleats on the bumpad, the pleating method on the skirt and how easy it seems to make stuffing by blade instead of using scissors.
It is SO much easier. And no repetitive stress on fingers and hands.
I love everything! The hearts, mermaid, pumpkin, and lots of bran!!!
Jack-o’-lantern rump pad: do useful for scaring away any butt demons.
Ah... what a delightful video. :) It's been great watching the progression of this 'outfit'. The rump is my favourite.
Excellent video as always. I really like your divide and conquer method of pleating into the waistband.
My current cuppa of choice is to make a large jug of a fruity or floral herbal tea and add lemon juice and honey for a fancy hot lemon drink.
You looked like you were having so much fun with your fabrics and what you were making.
Those are all so good, but I especially love the pockets. I’m a sucker for anything mermaid.
Your music choice was wonderfully magical! And I appreciate how you build-in space for commercial breaks so that you’re not cut off mid-scene.
for a drink, I have Mio-enhanced water. I’d rather be drinking Diet Dr. Pepper, but I don’t have any at the moment. Mio bottles are much more space-efficient than soda, and not really any better/worse for you. (Yes, I know how bad soda is, but it’s my poison of choice.)
Right now I’m working on a pocket as my game-night project. The only historically-accurate thing about the fabric is that it’s all cabbage. lol The front is pieced from four horizontal bands of cabbage. One band and the entire back are from a purple batik quilting cotton. One band is a Marvel comics-themed quilting cotton, and the last two panels are from a Transformers Animated poly/cotton blend I found YEARS ago and bought before I realized it was likely a knockoff. This has been a nice little hand-sewing project while play via video chat online.
That pocket sounds AMAZING.
@@OpusElenae Thank you!! I’m really proud of how it’s turning out! :D
For the glorious chaos of April Fools Fabric, this was a very relaxing video to watch. I liked the epic video game feels music
Thank you!
Using the rotatery cutter is brilliant...
Thank you so much for this, it's perfect timing! I'm just about to start an 18th century petticoat and was dreading all the pleat maths. The divide and conquer method looks much simpler!
I forgot to say but each measurement, front and back, was 1/2 my waist measurement plus one inch (for a tiny bit of overlap on each side).
@@OpusElenae Thank you!
Using geometry instead of arithmetic is perfectly valid and probably the preferred method of plenty of people in the 18th century as well.
This video with just the soothing music and captions throughout was such a nice way to unwind tonight with my decaf earl gray from Harney and Sons! Thanks for sharing these fun projects with us!
I love me an earl grey!
This was so worth the wait! The punkin butt made me laugh! And I love all the other projects too!
I showed my SO you putting on the pockets and told him about the story i read detailing a costumer pulling an entire bottle of wine out of one of those (or a bustle? I can't quite recall...) and he thought it was hilarious, but also said that's probably why women aren't allowed pockets anymore (something he's had to listen to me cuss about on multiple occasions). Thank you for the video and I love the pumpkin rump 🤣
I'm so excited for Co-Sy and a little heart sore - my daughter's getting married that weekend so i probably wont be able to attend live, but...yay! for online events!
That’s the nice thing about online events; they will all be available after! Congrats to your daughter!
This is all amazing :D I'm so excited that that you're almost at 5000 croissants now!
So, it is not my captions, she really says “croissants”………..
The music is truly inspiring, and my goodness that pumpkin roll is so...i really have no words , except for some odd reason, I want one. All the pieces are just so wonderful.
Aw thank you! I spend a lot of time on picking and editing music and it vexed me no end to have it get lost.
(Also you should totally make a punkin butt)
I may just do that. My spouse got me a new to me sewing machine for my birthday. I'm learning to use a machine that was made in this decade, very slowly.
@@jackiejames4551 it’s a really great project to practice on. All gentle curves and straight lines.
Courtney,
Great to see you looking well, fun projects! Thank you for a very pleasant diversion 🎃🧡
Sees jack-o'-lantern and begins eying the red orange linen in my own stash...
DOO EET
!! I have that same mug! (the one in the start)
I love how it all turned out! The red looks so great together and on you! I love the silly underthings too. :D The mermaid pockets are so silly and lovely.
Thank you! I do love a silly project
beautiful. And I love the whimsical touches. :)
Thank you!
You look great! and I love your fabric choice(s)! The idea to have a separate skirt front and back is awesome... I struggle with fluctuating waist measurements a lot and that solution looks like it wouldn't matter that much o.O
I am going to make some modern skirts with this technique, not gonna lie.
Clothes that were made to last many years were typically made with fluctuating measurements in mind.
Almost always drinking a Chai, spicier the better! I do love watching and becoming inspired by your crafting. Thank you for making these videos.
I do love a chai!
@@OpusElenae I used yo make my own blends gollowing the seasons, but Ive been having trouble procuring orange pekoe for the last couple years in bulk like I used to :( but, I find good chai all over. So I'm not terribly sad.
I’m sipping a lovely tea ☕️ sorry yours got cold, I have that happen way to often. Usually when I’m rugged up in bed and can’t be bothered to get out and heat it 😅
I used that same fish scale lame for a set of living room furniture for the Barbie home of my great-niece! It is so fun! This is just one step in creating an extravagant amount of furniture for her home. (It is my job to spoil this child. Really. I have a certificate.)
That's amazing! I made a pair of pajama pants for Tornado and this is the leftovers.
Not drinking anything, but had some black tea earlier. :)
+1 for Pumpkin Butt.
I just finished my tea. PK tips with a little sugar and milk.
Wonderful! Well done you!
Momma, you need to customize your petticoat with a silloette of me on it. LOL. Brian is absolutely adorable
Oh my gosh maybe that will be this year’s wacky fabric project…
Opus: tasteful jack-o'-lantern face
Me: BIG FACE OR GO HOME
Opus: pauses to remove pins like a civilized human
Me: zoom zoom gotta go faaaaaast *drives over 15 pins*
I adore the pumpkin butt! The little face! I am slightly concerned that the stuffing is going to settle and make it less voluminous, but maybe that's what you're going for, and my opinion on your pumpkin doesn't matter, anyway!
That sentence feels *wrong*.
This whole video was such fun to watch.
Too cute!
Love it! 🎃
As I purposely make my tea cold cause I'm just already too hot. FTR it's Stash Decaf Chocolate Hazelnut, and holy crap I like it so so much...it's my third box (I have to order from abroad), and I'm running low!
👗
21:12 Production Assistant Bran looks like a small black bull on a large red cape.
He’s gonna WIN
I am drinking cardamom chai
I was wondering if it would work to sandwich the petticoat top between two bits of twill tape- I’m making one for my daughter, and she really dislikes very thin waistbands, and all I have is one inch twill tape. It’s good to know my vague idea would work!
I worked perfectly and the two layers means it makes a nice firm waistband that didn’t wrinkle or fold over.
@@OpusElenae I think I’ll be doing the same for my next petticoats too. So glad to hear it works so well.
Will CoSy have a discord server again?
I had great fun on the last one :)
It will! I know people loved it last year.
@@OpusElenae Fantastic. Not a huge fb fan so I'll keep my eyes peeled and ear to the ground for the pop-up server. Totally down for being a "ask me discord questions" person again. :)
@@cheerful_something_something I’ll definitely post when things get rolling closer to.
I had to mute the video after a while because the music got too repetitive.
Okay
@@OpusElenae
I know you tried to make it more varied by using a few different pieces, but unfortunately they were all too short and repetitive for me.
