good luck winning the lawsuit there are many ways amazon could just outpower u like they could keep pretending they found new evidence and delay court until u run out of money for a lawyer or they could just bribe the house
Civil rights laws are a joke... rather treated as such - *between misleading, misinterpreted n enforced* - supreme court often denies legit cases (particularly unpopular - unheard of/kept on the DL) thru injunctions, precedent, etc. Therefore denying other rights violations by referencing opinions in failed n poorly judged/misinterpreted/ biased/intentionally corrupted cases. Once one realizes The United Corruption of America n every country under UN are ultimately a rigged corporation by the world financial system/International Monetary Fund, all rights n laws are merely a facade! Masses are vastly duped under this veil, a series of traps successfully weaved into the system by elites (financial, political, religion n govt sectors) - modifying, using n disposing of whatever n whomever as needed; basically righteousness is a real shitshow!

The delivery people seem uncomfortable at the thought of going IN a stranger's home
Well there not really going inside.
Dogs
I’m an Amazon delivery driver and I’ve had to do garage deliveries a few times. Basically I can open peoples garage doors with the app and set the package inside.
Not only am I uncomfortable when I get the sense that the customers are home(or not it’s still weird) but when they already have their garage door open, the app forces me to close the garage to continue. So even though the customer wants their garage door open(because they are home, doing yard work whatever) I have to close their garage to continue.
It’s a mechanic that I’ve brought up with the company who hired me(they work for Amazon) but there hasn’t been a change to it.
Even if I directly hand the package to the customer, I can’t continue until I open and then close their garage door.

as an amazon driver, i had to do this maybe twice. the first time was creepy only because the homeowners set up a creepy scene inside the garage they had me unlock and walk inside. there were scarecrows set up in various places in the garage each doing human things, one chilling on a couch watching tv, one at a table, one passed out on the floor next to empty beer bottles... and one standing right beside the door staring at me.

just keep an loud horn at your door as they open it they will get scared
I was really just thinking of a second inner door. But of course your house would either have to be designed that way, or you'd have to extend the front door out a bit. Regardless, what is to stop anyone just installing a box on the outside of their property and asking Amazon to install a lock on it?
I’m not concerned with them stealing anything or doing something shady while they’re making a delivery in uniform. I’m concerned with them returning at another time _not_ in uniform.
It would still be on camera and they have to sign into their account with their code on their phone to pair it with your door. This way, Amazon knows the person who is entering, it's not anonymous.
I think it's a one-time door code that only works until the delivery is completed.
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley they can still assess your house for valuables in plain site, and break in using another method on a later date. Since they know the camera is facing the front door, they just stay away from that area of the house.
@@Steph-yz4tn I think if someone is using this, they would also be the kind of consumer who's been in the market for a full home security set. Of course that's not a guarantee, but it would just make sense that if you're going to allow someone access into your house, you'd have a full range of cameras set up to monitor your home, just in case. Also, even if they did come back later, kind of makes it super easy to nail them considering, gee, I just allowed someone remote access to my house and now my house has been broken into! The Amazon delivery person would be the first person I would recommend to the police. Also, I'd almost rather they try to steal something when making a delivery, go ahead and put that klepto in the police dstabase if they weren't already. You have to have some kind of disorder to truly have the nerve to steal something when you know you're on camera, that's someone that just can't help themselves and so the police will help them for them, lol.

I feel like home builders are going to start building separate, locked rooms to accommodate a lot of these new intrusions.
Good point. Ideally, you'd probably only need a large, locking parcel cabinet outside your home. There already are similar things on the market, but I think the specifications on them aren't yet ideal. But I'm guessing with demand there will be improvements. I imagine the main challenge will be making them not look super ugly.
That’s what I was thinking. Maybe something like a locked in foyer. Amazon could unlock the door to the foyer, but the actual door that got into the house they wouldn’t have access to.
Build an airlock!
This in my next house I am definitely buying or building an airlock
neither chest nor locker is going to be big enough for my purchasing power.
How about yall just leave it at the post office and i pick it up later
Or Amazon locker which is a pretty great service if you have a location nearby for me i just have them send my packages to a nearby 7/11 were they have an Amazon locker they put it in the locker you go get it whenever
Because the post office treats people like dirt, holds packages hostage demanding addition payment on amazon packages, and their hours suck.
WTF ISthis that's if the post office is close by. My local post office is a 20 minute drive just to get there haha .
But then you're trusting your package with the post office people instead of the amazon people. Also if you live out of town it could take up to an hour drive to get to the nearest post office.

I feel like this would be a lot less creepy as an external package lockbox or if the homes had a small mudroom with a second door (what tons of other places have)
Exactly. If you have a sort of "lobby" or foyer you could let the delivery person in just enough to leave the package, without any risk of invasion of privacy. And if it became the norm that everybody has a kind of "visitor's area" before entering a home proper, I think the delivery people would be a lot less uncomfortable about it, too.
As an agoraphobe I can definitely see the convenience of having a package delivered directly to my home, not even requiring me to open the door for it. But the setup would have to be flawless.

Don't get it twisted, if they are "watching the delivery person" they are also watching YOU!

“Jeff Bezos owns this media company, but we are not biased.” Oh ok awesome
I mean, he’s very clearly giving you an honest review if you listen to it. He didn’t even recommend the product.
@@Hannah-zw9ow yea but he could also be omitting negative things. I’m not saying he is doing one thing or another - the point is that you cannot take this without a giant grain of salt, causing it to be completely useless. You can do an u biased review but if the motive for bias is looming large, you should simply avoid that topic.
@@Hannah-zw9ow Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
@@Hannah-zw9ow I felt there was a bit of glossing over on the security. a lot of electronic locks are vulnerable to just simple magnets so I was hoping for some kind of statement on that.
The ending was very honest though.
@@shedshow1439 The fact that they addressed it shows trust. If they were really biased they wouldn't mention it
I like his response at 1:25 where he says you get an alert on your phone. That does not stop someone from stealing your tv. You just get to watch them commit the crime. Yay.
Props to Jeff for not being biased
Erm. Does nobody have alarms in their house anymore?
yea u right
i work for ADT security and this lock probably doesn't pair with our systems (its possible in the future though) but as of now opening the door would set off the alarm.
Bruce Nightly I work with the FBI and don’t worry we see everything 😎
llJYNXII oh my.... this FBI thing has been a joke for months on the internet
They all have Amazon alarms..
Why don't they just make special Amazon-controlled lock boxes **outside** your door?
Thats what I thought. Like a lockable parcel locker like mailbox.
that would be so ugly, no thanks. plus, my mom just got delivered an oven via amazon. can u imagine an oven sized box?
Did an Amazon driver use an Amazon key and leave an oven right inside the front door? I have a hard time believing an item like that would be delivered in such a way.
umm, i never said we have an amazon key...
Ok then. Your mom's oven delivery doesn't apply. The whole point of my idea is to have Amazon lockers instead of Amazon keys. Obviously some special items like ovens won't be available for that kind of delivery.
"Amazon will correct the problem" *sound of a shotgun being loaded*
As an Amazon delivery driver. I hate everything about this. I hate delivering to garages using the key. It sometimes doesn’t connect and tries to connect again before giving me the option to attempt regular delivery, might not seem a lot of time but when I have 170 other stop yet to do, I need all the time I can get in order to finish on time.
I would get this if I had an enclosed porch or front entry area with a door, but then another door to get in the actual house lol
A OK!!!
yuki gackt same here! The only way I would consider it is if I had another sturdy door I could lock between it and the main part of my house.
how about making a small door which the packet fits through?
Yes, it is called mailbox.
yuki gackt my ex had that
3:17 that whole action just made me extremely uncomfortable
Good thing for me I'm not interested in Alexa and any other Amazon products, I just wanna buy cheap thing.
@@darknekoka1906 What??? What are you talking about?
*Creepy.*
@@bonedtothestone7408 what part are you specifically asking? I'm talking about that I don't spend money on amazon nor alexa speaker, mail, and other product.

"hello, this is the lockpicking lawyer"
I won’t want strangers just walk into my home.
"Amazon said that I did the installation wrong, and that's why the door jammed."
But earlier in the video it said that Amazon would get someone to install their product for you...
No, they said it was "his personal installation" as in his lock was not installed correctly, regardless who did it. The fault was from the install, not the lock it self or the delivery person.
It's not semantics, it's comprehending basic English.
Amazon wants to turn this world into watch dogs 2
lol trueeeee!!!!
*watch dogs* watch dogs 2 is suck
Yes
Heroninja112 like your grammar?
*HACKS LOCK*
I work as a delivery driver with Amazon. You can buy a package drop box that locks and have it on ur porch, have a bench that opens and put a note in ur delivery app to put the packages there.
Seems more like an advertisement than a warning
Hey, what if the lock was on like... A shed, rather than your house? A packaging shed. Just for the more paranoid users.
Cosmic Kitty That's actually an amazing idea
Yup, a walk-in mailbox essentially with no access to your home or personal information. Perfect
Isnt that basically just a post office?
I saw something called Boxlock a while ago that allows delivery people to unlock a container on your porch once by scanning the package, then locking it inside the container. Seems a bit more practical than a dedicated delivery shed :P
No. A post office isn't conveniently located at your house, where you go every day, and you'll probably have to queue at a post office.
Can we just stop making EVERYTHING “smart”? I really don’t like it. I’m a fan of standard... analog?
Thank you for saying this ! I thought I was the only outdated person in 2020 🙏
You don't like it so no one should be able to have it? Here is a solution,, "Don't by what you don't want in your life, only buy what you want and let other do the same".
Same here. And, as far as people who say you should do your thing and let others do theirs … when all the people who like this get their way, then we'll all be in the All-Amazon World, having to do business with them exclusively. Think it can't happen? And I do not like that one bit.
@@mamaroza22 so I agreed with you up until you meantioned the "young fools who were raised on videogames and cellphones" part. I dont understand why people believe that people who play games think that we are "mindless zombies who cant think for themselves" when it is generally the opposite. I was raised on gaming and I was taught that doing most things the manual way was way better and safer than relying solely on tech. Most people who play games and/or use technology know that doing things the manual way is usually better, especially if a particular app or website is storing your information. At the end of the day it all comes down to what the individual is being taught and how they utilize their personal information. Please make up some other excuse, rather than blame people who plays videogames or use other tech.
Nah, I need stuff to be smart because I feel like I'm getting dumber by the minute.
Right when this ended I got an Amazon ad 🤣
Giving a stranger a key to your house is as good an idea as self driving cars. What could possibly go wrong?
there's these new things called "P.O. Boxes" taking the world by storm. Some might even say it will revolutionize the logistics industry. But I'm still concerned about not letting a virtually autonomous multi-national company into my home, I mean how creepy is that; my packages are just sitting in a box in the dark all alone by themselves.
Poop but apparently some people are too fucking lazy get their fat ass up to go to their po box
You can only get US mail at post office, no FedEx or UPS. Plus, if I'm going to go to the post office to pick something up I'm better off buying whatever it is at the store.
Poop The answer is: say "no". Simple as that. There are other alternatives. It's naive to believe this is only for securing your deliveries.
Only the post office can deliver to a P.O.box not UPS, FedEx, or Amazon
I'd rather have my package stolen than let a stranger in my house.
I am pretty sure you dont have experience buying expensive things on the net if you have this kind of logic .
They're not in your home, they just open the door, leave the package inside and then close the door and lock it.
I make sure someone is home.If I'm not it gets sent to the PO and I pick it up later. Why would I need this service? If I'm not at home how urgent could it be anyway.
IIGrayfoxII It gives them the opportunity to enter your home. That's what they're saying
I agree. By letting any Amazon employee into your home, you're allowing any Amazon employee free access to steal anything they feel - not just whatever diapers and t shirts are in your package
Yeah, I'd like to see Amazon's terms of service here. - How much liability does Amazon take responsibility for?
Why not just have a bin at your door to drop packages in with a lock nearby so the mailman can lock it after the delivery is made.
"Any thing can be hacked, but it would probably be alot easier to burgle you by just knocking in a window" No, amazon Key uses NFC tags. Anyone with a newish smartphone could clone the key and open just about every door at the push of a button. Plus casually walking into the front door is alot less suspicious than bashing in a window.
nikushim666 you dont know what nfc really is, do you?
And if they hack the camera's or something the chances of catching them is almost nothing.
I smell a thriller movie coming on. 3 teens who have lived a tough life attempt to break in and rob a house in a nice neighborhood. They aren't really bad people, they 've just been dealt a bad hand at life and this is their only choice. Only one kid is extremely gifted and decides to hack the new Amazon lock and cameras and they think their plan is bullet proof. But then they quickly realize the reclusive old guy they were trying to rob is more than he appears. Can they escape before it's too late?
