Pro tip, transcribing in Line helps a lot also because, the audio has a transcribed draft that you basically just go through and edit. Keep google open to check any names or places or terms and jargon, sometimes just googling a single word will open up a whole lot of "terms" that you aren't exactly familiar with, like medical jargon.. great vid!

keyboard... very inspiring video. i actually worked at Rev during lockdown and was doing good for some time but then i started playing and just like that i was kicked out, no second chances. I've been trying to get back on and this is the kind of motivation i needed.

I have a tip: if you need to bring up your grades for accuracy or formatting and they are giving you a certain amount of time to do it. it will say "complete # of jobs of high grade to bring up your grade." do not do a long file! it only counts as one job and takes up most your time you have left. take the hours you have left to bring up your grade and divide the number of jobs you have to complete. the answer is the amount of max time each of those audios needs to be to bring up your grade. be strategic.

Congratulations! Make sure to study the style guide very closely so you can get graded 5/5 for all your projects and get promoted to earn higher pay ☺️
Try choosing only jobs on line as the draft means all the text is already typed out for you and all you have to do is edit for grammar and the occasional wrong wording. Also try and only pick easy to work with files so interviews typically work well as it’s mainly one person speaking. The biggest time sink I found was when there were 5/6+ people it’s so hard to work out what is being said and who Is saying what and you get marked down heavily if you use incorrect speaker labels. It’s also much quicker to do files where it is just one or two people talking. I’ve only been at it a short time and select only files that I know will be worth doing. My income works out at around £15-20 per hour

Just a heads-up for anyone looking to start Revving, you can only be accepted if you're located in the following countries:

That is very much false. I am from india. I applied 2-4 months ago. I DID get accepted like last week. Though, I do think that certain country people get response very fast than others. I got accepted in first try so there's that. I did my first training files then did my 25 min file for 8.22$ which isn't bad for me. It took me 2-3 hours but that pay isnt bad for starter level job. I am hoping i will get more files when i become revver which wont take more than a day.

Hey, is there time given to complete a task or it’s completely up to you on how long you take to complete a job?
Yes, they give you a time limit. So far I've had 3-4 hours to complete
Keyboard. This was very helpful. I tried the test sometime ago, and did not get approved. I was told to wait for 45 days to do it again. Do you really have to wait that long, or can you try again say a week later? (In other words: are they strict with the waiting periods?)

After watching your video, I applied and after waiting over a month, got in. Started working as a captionist. It was so hard at first, but just when I was getting the hang of it, I got kicked out because I disagreed with one of my ratings. I had 5/5/5 across the board and got a poor audio that sunk my score. I complained about it, and was out. The experience wasn't worth it for me. The money they pay you isn't worth the effort you put in.
I’m sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience. I can only speak from experience about transcription, captioning is a different beast all together. It’s odd that they would remove your account because of one bad grade though, I’ve never heard of that. But I hope you won’t give up on trying to make money online ❤️
@@KayRadebe they said that my grade didn't matter and it wasn't the reason for termination. I also didn't understand it. But the decision was final. lt happened an hour after I submitted a complaint on my grade. No I didn't have the energy to pursue any online opportunities after that. But thanks for your guidance, it was very helpful

I sent in my Rev application a month ago. There is a section where you fill in your particulars, then a "short essay" section where they ask you questions and you answer in 300-500 characters, then a grammar section with about 15 questions, and lastly do a demo transcription. Was this the same application process for you or did you do a short transcription course and write an exam?
I've been waiting for a reply from them and thought I didn't make it but your timeline gives me hope again😅

What happened
I applied at Rev and even passed the tests BUT I am still waiting for the email of approval and they specifically mention not to contact them while waiting to be approved. Any advice?

How do know u passed the test I submitted test 4weeks ago and I got email saying, they processing my application and I shouldn't reply on the email
If you pass the test, you get a congratulations email.
If you haven't received anything back after the "we've received your application" email, you can still receive an email rejecting your application.
I'm confused about how have you passed but still waiting for the approval email. 🤔
