This was an excellent comparison demonstration. I heard of Eastman from another channel when they were describing top quality guitar brands. Richard's stamp of approval sold me on finally getting an acoustic guitar. Thank you for sharing your passion, knowledge and experience, which you do with all your videos!

I just stumbled across a PCH1 OM at a used guitar shop. It blew me away. It was so inspiring. They sold it to me for $199. Best deal of my life. It's perfectly set up. The edges are smooth--possibly rolled. Sounds and plays like Heaven. So comfortable to play on the couch or in a chair. Light. Can't say enough about this guitar!

I got to admit, I'm struggling with my dreadnought for exactly the reasons Richard has pointed out. So tempted by these Eastman guitars, in fact everything in your shop is fab mate. I can comment on the set up side of Richards business tho. He turned my cheap Yamaha dreadnought into a fine & easily playable instrument. Worth it believe me. Thanks & I think it's time my shoulder had an easy life with one of those.

This is great. I have problems with my right upper arm/shoulder and I play a dread. Just looking at the difference between the D and the OM makes it clear how much better an OM would be for me. Since a decided to play guitar again after a lot (really) of years, I played mostly electrics but I had an old Yamaha D and my shoulder terribly suffered each time I played it. It is possible (with a huge amount of work) to get even a cheap guitar to play OK but only when you play a quality instrument properly set up do you realise that things are cheap for a reason. I have over the years played even quality instruments that have never been set up properly and are often unplayable which is a great shame. Your philosophy of recommending a price point where you can afford to set up any such guitars that leave your shop is to be applauded Richard because only in that way can new guitarist have a reasonable shot at learning their skills. Great video (and great looking guitars at a ridiculously good price).

I tried the both the PCH and E1 lines side by side last weekend. The glaringly obvious problem for the PCH line was that the E1 line - which cost 200 pounds more - sounded a thousand pounds better. I think I gave the PCH option less than a minute of my time since it was so clearly not in the same league. The E1 oozes out a gorgeous woody tone that one associates with much more pricey guitars, while the PCH doesn't in my opinion. Fine guitar though it is.
I'm happy I went with an 800 series (FS 820) Yamaha when i was looking at OM sized guitars, but my next guitar will be an E1D.

Banjo eh Yamaha FS OM style bridge string spacing is awful less than 2” it’s a way too narrow for a finger style guitar. The string spacing is less than a mexican 90’s Fender Strat. The Eastman PCH kills the Yamaha FS. Eastman PCH 1 OM bone nut and saddle, nitro finish too.... can’t be beat sounds phenomenal! I bough one to toss in the car, take on vacation, sit around a fire in the backyard. Absolutely can’t be beat for the $$$!

To my ears, the dreadnought and OM both sound great and the grand auditorium is trying to do sound like both of the other two without succeeding and without having its own voice/identity. Perhaps the cutaway is hurting its tone?

Great acoustic guitar beautiful sounding and well made cant complain at all, apart from the electronics in this guitar, after 10 months the pickup is acting weird and dropping signal strength on the E B and G strings. I cant fathom it. could be due to the crappy quality electronics the Chinese turn out, For example Chinese capacitors are well known to be complete and utter garbage, badly made with substandard materials, Japanese capacitors are amongst the best in the world. Even though i have this annoying problem i realise the guitar is so well priced and such good quality it's hard to complain, but even when the pickup was working properly the sound quality is just about acceptable for recording. I might have to look into putting a K&K in my guitar. The electronics lets this guitar down but then again the price and overall quality is outstanding. Great review mate, very honest and as an owner of an Eastman i can say people can trust everything you said about this guitar, i wish i had it years ago.
