Hearing Gracie tell Slim not to cry was pulling hard on the heart because so many women are going through this situation today. Trying to evade an abusive spouse with a kid, and not able to find much help. It's heartbreaking to know that there are people out there who would go to great lengths to hurt someone.
I have 5, now 7 kids. And this is because I don't want them to go thru the things I went thru growing up. And when she's tell her mom not to cry. I'm barely gonna be a 21 year old man. And sometimes I can't stop myself from crying and I hate that they see it sometimes

Now I understand why Jupiter didn’t believe Slim. The other children of Jupiter were after his money for profit sake alone. While Slim just had to run to Jupiter for help, because she just had no other option. So when those private investigators threatened to kill Jupiter, if he tries to help Slim, that’s when he figured out how serious Slim’s situation was. Glad he turned around. Took me 20 years to figure this out. But I was only 5 when I watched this. I was like, why didn’t he believe what Slim was saying at the office???
Yeah it felt lile it was a bad move on his part but in reality it makes scense. But it showed that he was a nice guy when he gave her that money without even knowning that was his real daugther. He was helping out someone who was in real trouble and he knew that.

He was a rich playboy who left her mother years before and probably had kids with 5+ women either before or after. He only recognized her through her mother's wedding ring which she had kept that whole time. Even after, Slim told him that he needed to acknowledge her (before she went to fight Mitch).
@@melaniekendall4903I was arguing with someone about "the time traveler 's wife". There is this scene when this grown up started to talk with a little girl (his future wife). I was arguing that sends a bad message if kids watch it because "strangers danger", he argued that that movie was not intended for kids since it was pg-13, just like this moviem

So the fact of the situation is her husband is a bad person. So is her father. But to defeat one bad person you need another baddie and not a sissy because one baddie ain't gonna take no shit from another creep.
So it's like Jupiter is saying i am the big dog here, the old timer playboy & much talked about jerk and you think I'll be afraid! 😆😆😆 And he accepts the challenge and helps generously! 😊
The lovely part is he starts the letter with 'dear Slim'! The papa bear in him has taken charge now and it's hard to miss he did love her now to the extent that he'll continue to fulfill his duties from now on! ❤

The best movie she has ever done
If I had a biological father that did not support me my entire life, did not acknowledge my existence or cared if I was *alive or dead* , than I would not be at his office asking for money. It's not healthy to be without a father but the woman who gave birth to you leaves a place that is hard to remove. In this movie, Slim is on the run and has no choice but to turn to her dead, filthy rich father but if she had died at the hands of her husband and her child was left without her mother, that would be even harder for a person to deal with.
She never did before but she had to humble herself for her child’s sake and it worked out!
Well it’s different when you end up in a abusive life or death situation with a child.
Abusers can't have the children trapped !

I'm watching this because today I asked my father for $80 to get out of my abusive relationship. My father called me almost everyday telling me bad stuff about my relationship before it even came to past. When I asked him about $80 he complained that it will take him $8 to send the $80 😮. My father is a retired police officer. Soon as I get where I need to go I'm changing my phone number. I was 100% for leaving my husband today but when my father said that it made me feel like my husband isn't that bad. My husband called me a MF and said he hate me today, stalked me and took my car. All that stuff my husband did I'm over already but I can't go to sleep last night because how my father acted. The way my father talked to me explains why I have the husband I have. Next week I'm changing my phone number. Then he start throwing the Bible at me and talking about sins in the Bible I never committed.

This movie taught me the dangers of being in an abusive relationship. And her father is a total asshole. It is hard when you have nobody to turn too.
I’ve seen the movie enough a few times, but I do not remember that thing it’s hard for me to watch because it has to do with abuse anything that’s racial or abuse. It’s hard for me to watch, but I am very proud of her how she stood up for herself and her daughter.

Well that's true there are good men in the world but some men are not very nice they can be abusive and controlling just like not all women are good they lie on innocent men take their kids away from them cheat on them and use a man for thier money,I don't agree with any of it ,it's not right to hurt anyone else no matter what some one sex is,I think the world would be a much better place if everyone treated each other with respect and treated others the same way that they wanted to be treated, I'm really lucky I guess my grandparents were together for over 50 years and they were so happy and I don't get me wrong I love my dad but when I decided to get married I looked for traits that my grandfather had And I tried to be like my grandmother I think it's important if we follow good rule models in no matter what we do in our lives,we will all be better off for it ,if we did ,I'm so glad that I had them to look up too
