  • I revisit the prior EICR and carryout remedial work including installing this Verso consumer unit complete with RCBOs, SPD and AFDD.
    Really impressed at the value offered here as covered in the video.

    This is not paid or sponsored, I bought it and is just an honest review from using it as a result.

    The thing I like about these videos you make Mark is that they are not sponsored and unbiased and give sparky thoughts good and bad points other youtube electricians seem to be spoilt by the free product placements. I like the QR code instead of some of the
    stickers did you say that you do one with all the information on everything installed? Pablo must have a northern brother. With all these new brands on the market, it wounders me in years to come if they are going to be available. One thing I commend Hager is that although they have upgraded their consumer unit over the years their protective devices are the same.

      It's always a worry mate. More so having seen Anderson go under in the EV market.
      Hager have the new single mod rcbo/afdd out soon. Can't wait to try it. I live to give everything a chance. Have done loads of brands of CU on my channel. Having spoke to the people behind verso they seem focused on sparks. I like that. Time will tell in the end!

    A nice, neat job there mate. Even with the taller RCBOs, there's still a bit of room in there compared to others I've seen. An AFDD for under three figures cost-wise is a fine thing too. Looking forward to the next vid.
    I think the snakey thing is a cable tie left behind by the BFG. Also available in red I believe. Whatever it is, the missus reckons I need more training with one but no idea what she means.

    Hi Mark, another nice job, as for the strange object on the carpet with the pipes coming out of it, I have seen it before and can confirm it is Pablo's TARDIS, come on guys how else did you think he moved so quickly around the country. Regards from Ray the old sod from North Wales.

      @@electrician247 Hi Mark, I'm doing fine, still PAT testing for my wife's Animal charity shop, it's amazing to find so many pieces of equipment wrongly fused, cable clamps in the plug top clamped on to the wires etc. also electric kettles & irons that fail the insulation test, I cut the cables off, put a failed sticker on them and pass them to the recycling depot. Regards, Ray.

  • @effervescence5664
    @effervescence5664 Před rokem +1

    The Verso RCBO's aren't double pole as that seems to be the big advantage with the CP Fusebox ones as compared to the majority of other brands using the same format. Other than that it's impressive gear and a lovely install. Just a shame about the pipe work, I would of been inclined to re do it if I was there.

    • @electrician247
      @electrician247  Před rokem

      I would have loved someone to sort the pipework out and move it lol. Made the best of it though! Yeah I forgot to mention after putting my glasses on they are solid neutral. One to watch with EV/PV etc. Not sure what is going on at fusebox atm. AFDDs recalled and price increases often. Guess its a sign of the times! Hope you are well mate.

      @@electrician247 I was expecting some recalls on AFDD's it was just a case of which and when, as lets be honest we have the smallest consumer units in Europe. Everything is having to be crammed into single module instead of double or triple modules so more miniaturisation gives increase chance of manufacturing defects.
      The FuseBox price rise I don't mind as the DP makes up for it compared to other more expensive brands which still lack it especially as they're all increasing around the same margin down here.
      Keeping well mate, hope you and the lads are too! Maybe if I am up your way in future and you need something like that moved I'll pop in and do it, starting to get bored where I am.

      @@effervescence5664 Verso could possibly have a mini rcbo that is DP very close to being on the shelves. Could 🤫
      Great point about miniature everything. We need to get real with CU sizes tbh

    • @navitascp
      @navitascp Před rokem +2

      Hi both, Mark you’re right our Mini RCBO that will be available later next month has a switched neutral.
      One thing to watch out for with other brands and the miniaturisation of everything is the thermal derating factor.
      The reason we delayed our mini so long, was to ensure it passed these stringent testings.
      100% right about the consumer units. In Europe they use radial circuits as well. This reduces a lot of issues on devices also.
